Changing the foyer's interior

Hi everyone this is a bit different, but my apartment's foyer just got repainted from a warmer colour to light blue. I'm not sure if you can see from the photos, but it looks too blue and a bit sickly to me. The floor looks worse now as well. What do you think?
Also they are wanting to change the pink sofa's upholstery and change the paintings on the curved wall. What do you think will suit? Any advice / opinions are appreciated. Thank you.

Comments (3)Have no idea why you are restricted to white doors but we live in a house where all the doors come off the hall and we put in doors with checked glass everywhere to get natural light into the hall and also break up the row of nothing but doors i have pale grey walls but I painted all those doors dark gray and hung very colorful art work down that hall it looks sort of like a gallery and not sterile at all. Comments (11)This might sound a bit like being on the fence given the advice you've had already... How about a mid to dark grey ( less contrast than black), RAL 7022 is a favourite of mine (warmer grey), or look at a green grey, as something that will have the colour of the olive, with a good amount of contrast against the white render, (you won't have the warm rich colours of the brickwork as in the photos above (which the olive looks good against)). If you are painting the timber windows you would do well to look at microporous opaque stains to reduce your on-going maintenance. A benefit of aluclad composite windows is colour outside can be factory supplied different to the interior finish. Hope this might help. Comments (0)We've finally decided to change our dated kitchen and currently not using the space correctly. Both myself and my partner have been discussing ideas, layouts, colours, etc., over the past 2 weeks and we just seem to be going round in circles! We need a 3rd party to come and advise on the best layout for us. Should we get an external interior designer in to provide advice? Or will a kitchen company provide this to us? Should we visit showrooms to choose a design? We're clueless as to what steps to take to choosing the correct kitchen and layout, so would love to hear from anyone who has gone through this recently.
