Design Dilemma Windows Home Decorating

Arched window dressing

Hello, could anyone help me how to dress this window in a boys bedroom. As you can see the arch goes right to the ceiling, which makes it awkward with a pole. I have shown a picture of the other window in the room too. I would like to have been able to draw something acroas for some sort of privacy. His beds are rustic scaffold style. Many thanks.

I think a thin pole should work fine as the cheapest fix. You can fix the brackets as far out as the wall allows it and the other window could take a roman blind. Gorgeous room and gorgeous windows.

Hi there, First of all, what a lovely space - the floor tiles are a really gorgeous feature! With these windows, it really is up to you. Shutters are fantastic for creating a clean, uncluttered feel, while, as Colourhappy says, a Roman blind is a great way to add a luxurious feel. Both create a classic look that will never go out of style. Alternatively, as you say, curtains are a gorgeous choice. Floor length curtains would create a real sumptuous look, but you may want to consider how this might block your radiator, especially if you intend to open and close them regularly. I have to agree that glass film is brilliant- we used Purlfrost online. You can either pre measure and they will cut for you you or you can buy a piece and cut to your own specs. It arrives rolled in a tube. We've done two rooms- the living room with full frost and the other, a bedroom- with just the bottom half of the window covered which looks pretty modern and sharp. It was supposed to be a temporary solution till we got shutters organised but it looks so effective and fresh that we've decided to save the small fortune that shutters cost! The help line was great- they recommended leaving a gap around the edge near the frame for a beveled glass effect which did actually work! You can get different levels of opaqueness - we used the less opaque for more light but still private- or patterns or stained glass effect. Its really easy to apply yourself too, and apparently comes off with no damage to the glass at all, so good if. Works out really economical as well. Can you tell I'd recommend it?! :)

Yeah was thinking a larger mirror ....we have nothing done with the room yet. Afraid to ...in case I get it wrong. Was thinking of pulling the sofa out from the wall a little at an angle. Maybe wingback chair near fireplace...want to keep it kinda open and minimal....maybe console table to the left of the mantal ...or move the tele all together ..I dunno. The room isn't that narrow... Its about 12 feet wide at either side of the mantal
