Design Dilemma Hallways

Help please with carpet colour

Hi

Please can you give me some ideas of what colour carpet to go with the canton and gauze mid (see picture) it’s for a hallway and landing.

Not so keen on carpets in Halllway's they get grubby easily, so, you'd probably be best with a carpet and a runner over the top. Therefore, as the green would be too dark for the floor and suck light, i'd go with a mid grey and then get a runner with green and pale grey in it to compliment the walls.

What flooring do you have in other rooms on the ground floor? Laminate, LVT etc are great in Hallway's and are easily cleaned. Plus, a wood would warm things up a little.

Like this and thank you, we are going for a laminate in the hallway it is just the stairs and landing I was having problems with.

Hi elconno, Not sure if you are in USA but I would suggest two colors by Sherwin-Williams called Upward and Wallstreet. The pic doesn't do the colors justice but the dark one I would put only on the wall your fridge is on - that includes the little strip above the cabinets. This will make the fridge disappear a little and it will be a great wall for a piece of art with a lot of color - it will really pop! The lighter color will go well with any teal accents you want and brighten the space.

Mid grey/charcoal colour would make the pink look very chic and modern. It is also a great colour (we have it in our house) as its light enough that it doesn't show every crumb etc and dark enough to get away with not having to vac every day!

That is true alright, though even with a patterned carpet they usually keep a mat for people to wipe their feet on by the door, or if people like to remove boots or shoes when entering ( not that common here) but great idea. The trouble with the patterned carpet was if anything fell on the floor you could hardly find it !!
