Hi,
I’m looking for shower panels in a herringbone design rather than tiles due to easy of clean and contemporary look.
I was looking for something like this and similar shower fittings.
I want a contemporary and minimalist look

Comments (4)For the time being (and this IS only a temporary fix) try using a water based penetrating sealer on the grout. I stress water based, because solvent based sealers today are made to be "breatheable", meaning they allow moisture to transmit back and forth, while the water based sealers will repel water. You still need to address this in a more permanent manner (the glass door is a good idea, but it wouldn't hurt to remove the bathroom floor tile, waterproof the floor, and install a new tile floor), but this will help until you can afford to do what you need to do....See MoreTo panel or not?
Comments (21)Hi Marie. It's difficult to tell how wide the room is but a round table could work at the foot of the stairs. Dress with a large bowl and plants/flowers etc. you could also try hanging 3 chandeliers or pendants down the hall. I would also have either 2 matching consoles opposite each other by the front door or keep your existing and add some seating opposite to create symmetry. I think if you were to dress the console with bigger items it would stand out more ie ginger jars on the bottom shelf, classic urns, plants etc on the top. Once you've got the basics done and budget permits, you can add further floor standing decorative pieces, a small chair etc. I think you definitely need some tall art by the front door though or even mirrors if you're not keen to add art...See More
PRO7 years agoRose, even a real tiled herringbone wall would be easy to maintain if you select the right type of finish. A polished, sealed grey tile is very easy to clean. Use it together with a grey colour grouting which doesn’t show dirt and the shower should look just fine over the years. But we think it would look much more elegant and natural than those acrylic wall substitutes.

It's Abz K that wishes to have herringbone shower panel. My reason is very different, it is planned more of a design piece to break up an otherwise 3m wide tiled area and separate the shower and bath area. I love art deco, and have failed to find a tile I like so a panel made sense... sorry for the hijack Abz
