What Should I Do With This Range Hood Cover?
My kitchen has a built up drywall structure covering my range hood. My countertops are going to be Silestone Blanco Maple.I am using an artistic glass tile as the backsplash and am thinking of doing some type of metal covering the bottom portion of the hood cover that had previously been tiled. See photos for before, now and samples of backsplash and countertop. Welcome any ideas for that area or suggestions of people in the DFW metroplex that can fabricate something for it.

It IS red on the inside as well, he insisted on that when we purchased it. no one here has it red on the inside and I wanted it to be white on the inside. do you see my dilemma?;) I agree with everything you are saying, I suppose this is the reason why so far I was not 100% sure about the black for the door either, although I like black...Agree, there is too much wall and I find the house to be looking a bit 'bland' and would like to change that. I LOVE shutters, but read somewhere that you never put shutters on wide windows, so got unsure about that, too...but perhaps just the one as I stated earlier. Would the color on that shutter be the same as the door (if I ever settle on a door color)? Unfortunately window boxes are not an option as we have quite a few cats and they may be used as litter boxes;) please don't tell me to get rid of the cats;)... Regarding the stoop (entrance) : we need to add another step (made of cement) on top of the existing step: it was removed when the new door was fitted. We were thinking of putting slate tiles or something dark to match the roof, if that makes any sense.... It is porous cement so unsuitable for painting, I think. Comments (17)It looks very pretty. I would look at pics of painted floors versus whitewashed and see which you prefer then people can hopefully help with methods. I've used chalk paint but not on a floor. Annie Sloan sell floor lacquer so you don't need to use the wax which is very time consuming to apply, the lacquer can be rollered on. The only thing I would say is that it does not adhere to I think varnish made in the 80's and I find the White paint coverage is poor although not an issue if white washing. 5 years agoThanks Classic Structures. We are located in Dallas. Thanks HALLETT & Co. The countertops are being fabricated already so let's hope they do well. They are actually cooler looking in person. The backsplash has been delivered and when I look at it together it looks good. I have a hard time visualizing the room as a whole. Below is a wider angle shot as well as other areas of the kitchen. It is pretty large. The cabinets in the nook area with the floating shelves were incorrectly ordered and are going to be standard counter height. The light fixture is being replaced with something more contemporary.
