Should i paint the ceiling or trim a different color or keep white? I will paint the doors mahogany to make them lighter...good idea?

Comments (29)With a sliding door, you can have each side different to match the style of the room it faces. Here are some ideas that, believe it or not, are done with sharpies on flat surfaces. I can envision a "fireplace" on the lounge side. On the dining room side, you could do the "double door" look, by putting half on the door, and half on the wall next to the door. So when the door is closed, it looks like a pair of doors, but when the door is slid open it looks like only one door (but it's the wall!) I added the 3rd picture just because I think it's so cool. Comments (2)Hi if you want dark colours through out your home you can use the dark colour on wood work example flooring if you go for dark oak do the doors and frame and skirting to a lighter tone of the floor or if would like to break the continuous of the colour of the door frame you can stain the skirting boards white or a neutral colour but white does bring the skirting board stand out...See MoreAdvice on ceiling heights

Comments (0)It's a grey/blue sea fog exterior colour but is there a rule of thumb to painting the trim around windows? I know to go a lighter or darker shade but as it's cut into the hillside I don't want it sticking out in an obvious way. Which is better to give the impression of larger windows?
