Narrow House (15.4ft / 4.7m) - what are my layout options?
Comments (9)HI -- gross635 -- Your right to some degree but you can't move the main floor bath to the other side because then that interfers with the floor plan on the second floor. Would not work . I would have loved to turn the whole plan around but it won't work in this case. Added note to what I posted before is to get rid of anywalls you don't need and also not every room has to have a door. Like the one on the lounge and the one at the end of the hall. I would open the lounge up by not having the walls on the entrance hall . As for a closet , there is space in front of the set back powder room for some coat hooks etc. I also question the fact of , if the lounge is really needed. Everything could have been shifted to the front and the kitchen set back , then that would have made a larger dining/familyroom area . But that would have ruined the resale value . So I think moving the bathrooms was the lest and best for this plan. One question I have , is this an English plan ?, because the English love putting doors on every room ?And usually the doors swing the wrong way....See MoreNeighbours extension wall
Comments (19)The rules may have changed but when we built our extension the wall adjoining our neighbour had to be completely within our own boundary. It looks as if your neighbour has continued along the party wall and therefore half the depth of the wall is on your land. It might be worth getting a chartered building surveyor to check it out as otherwise it may cause difficulties when either you or your neighbour come to sell. If I'm wrong about this maybe a professional on here could correct me. Other than that I think you should make the best of the little private courtyard it has afforded you by using plants in pots and climbers to soften the wall....See MoreGarden furniture suitable for house on Wild Atlantic Way!
Comments (0)Hi, We live on the North West Coast of Ireland and are high up so it can be very wet and windy. I'm looking for recommendations for garden table and chairs which can withstand Irish weather. I know we would need to take in cushions but we don't have a shed/garage as of yet so I'd rather have furniture which can stay out all year. TIA...See MoreColour for garden wall please
Comments (0)Hi I’m looking to paint this awful brick wall. I’d love to clad it but I’m on a budget. The fence is dark grey and the house is a cream colour. The patio is limestone. The rattan furniture is grey with cream cushions. I’m open to colour. Thank you Susanne...See Morerachelmidlands
