Exterior makeover - render and window frame colour advice
We need to decide on the window frame colour and render colour for our house makeover and dont know where to start!! if anyone can help or can point me in the right direction of a professional i would appreciate it hugely!
See below pictures - the roof is staying as it is with maybe a professional clean
and it will look something like this with the left hand bay and the porch going leaving the rest subject to a render, monocouche and replacement windows
the front gable being fully glazed or maybe partially glazed (see last pic below)......do we go oak frame black window frames and off white render or maybe sage green frames and cream render or anthracite and white.....any opinions very welcome

Comments (22)What about 6 massive pots? Two one either side of the bay windows and one on either side of the front door. (I too have a massive gray gravel drive way. Trying to plant through the gravel brings on a whole other set of challenges. Pots are just more practical, for me anyway.) I love those trees in the lawn area.:) And the green trim. Comments (9)I think the design of the exterior has real 70s integrity. A bit of paint is all you need. Replace the garage doors with floor to ceiling windows matching the aesthetic the current windows already have. You should check out Cocontest.com for architecture work, or you could try and find an interior architect (there are degree courses in interior architecture these days) I've seen loads of one plan's posts and it would definitely be worth having a chat with them. 6 years agoOkay, it's quite a lot of work to find the right images to combine to something that looks reasonable, so don't be too critical ;-) But here's one possibility. I will try to make a couple of different versions. If you want me to try something specific, just let me know. I will do my best :-)

6 years agoI couldn't possibly choose :-) Mocked up two versions (5 & 7) on the actual photo of you house, so you can see the garage with it. If you want to see something else, just ask. It's no trouble, otherwise I wouldn't be doing it. I kind of like the puzzling it takes to create something.

6 years agoHard choice! I think the gable stands out more with the full render (although do consider ongoing maintenance costs (unlike us!) particularly if you’re close to a busy road ). I “think” my favourite is 5A as the oak frame feels more sympathetic with the roof. How limited are you with the render colour? Are they RAL colours?

6 years agoHello again Carolina.....we have been working again on the front of the house.....would you care to do some more of your incredible photoshopping??
If you had the time i tell you what i'd love to see is the full house and garage rendered, with the window frames, gutters and soffits in a grey RAL7037 .....the chimneys have disappeared now as has the little dormer roof on the left....either on the plan below or the photo you played around with above.....
any other comments or views welcome.....have considered a lighter colour RAL 7036 but not sure whether it would do the curtain wall justice or not

6 years agoIt’s really difficult to get the colours right on screen. Did the photoshop thing on my computer, now I look at it on the phone and the colours look very different. So you’ll have to figure the right colours out on real life.
I’ve used RAL 9001 for the render. Our house is painted that colour and it is a lovely soft white.
