Kitchen layout for a new build

Hi all,

I'm tearing my hair out re kitchen layout for a new build and would love your suggestions. I'm finding it hard to design something clean-cut but yet that is not too closed in around the entrance door to the kitchen. The style will be handleless matt with a white stone worktop, very modern hopefully.

Anyway, we will be having the hob closer to the wall to allow for more seating space on peninsula - it's measuring about 2.7m at the moment. Potentially a mix of the 3 different plans might work best, but the position of the sink and hob won't change.

Where is your refrigerator? If you move your stove over is there room for a refrigerator and a stove? You will need at the very least 12" on each side of your stove. Your sink can either go by the window or on the island. Another option is to put the stove on the outside wall and move the window over. If you do this you can put the sink on the island. The refrigerator can go on the back wall and you might have room for a 24" wide pantry at the end next to the door and the refrigerator can go next to the pantry.

Thank you both. The staircase does actually have a turn in it, near the top. And we are planning glass doors in the hall to the kitchen so you can see all the way from the front door out through to the garden! I'm not sure about opening up the playroom & family room. We would really value an 'adult' room at the front of the house for TV in the evenings, and somewhere to close off the kid's toys! We could also use the playroom as a 4th bedroom/guest room if necessary. Thanks again

Thank you both for taking the time to comment. Yes it would be better without the doors but unfortunately the doors have to stay. Patricia's U-shaped idea is promising. I could use the outer two thirds of the 'conservatory' area as a 'lounge' space and then place a dining table extending up into the rest of the kitchen area. I'm just unsure as to whether it will work as a unified space.
