Comments (0)what are the best lighting tracks and bulbs for long narrow hallway with a high ceiling. I live in UK so general advice would be helpful. Thanks...See MoreNarrow dark hall how to light it.
Comments (5)Hi, I have the same problem in my hallway. If your budget is tight, just replacing the ceiling light with something like a starburst pendant with at least 6 bulbs would instantly improve the space. Also I would hang some bold and bright artwork on the walls and put a runner on the floor. Mirrors are also great for your space. I'm attaching a photo example. See how the eye is instantly drawn to the bold door? Also if you can repaint the wall, I would recommend you to use glossy finish paint so the light can bounce off the walls too. I'm happy to help you further at no fee via email, if you're stuck. I give lots of free advice on my blog so you can check it out for inspiration and advice. Link should be in my profile. Comments (14)Hello nicnoll, Another idea could be to have a wall light that is all about the bulb! A few links to both ideas.... Copper is good too... Guessing you can have them pointing up or down for ones that don't have a moving hinge.. http://www.oldschoolelectric.com/vintage-light-bulbs/ http://www.industville.co.uk/collections/wall-sconce-bar-restaurant-lamps/products/vintage-barn-angled-brass-wall-lamp A ceiling light.. http://www.industville.co.uk/collections/ceiling-lights-lampshades/products/brooklyn-vintage-brass-cone-lampshade OR.. One other idea... have a rose with multi flex wires... centralised where the current one is.. Then choosing cable/flex and lengths.. run them along to where you want.. either along ceiling.. in loops with hooks to loop round and fix position, so then excess becomes a drop pendant to add something lovely.... Or you run them in loops across the ceiling to the opposite wall and have a wall light fitting but the electric cable comes from the one ceiling point. So less to do wiring wise.. Plus this makes for a very interesting bespoke installation.. with coloured flex cable running in loops along the hallway.. . : )) http://www.urbancottageindustries.com/historic-lighting/ceiling-roses/multiple-outlet-ceiling-roses/ceiling-rose-multiple-cable-flex-outlet-vintage-brass http://www.urbancottageindustries.com/historic-lighting/fabric-cable/twisted-lighting-flex/copper-fabric-lighting-flex-cable-twist...See MoreLooking for an alternative to a ramp
Comments (0)I'm looking for an alternative to ramping an indoor 10" step. Thanks a step from a narrow hallway into a large room, the advice is to ramp however the space require is 6-8 feet which we feelmis excessive. The hallway is only 41" wide turnig at a right angle to a 10" step. If anyone can give me an idea instead of a ramp I'd really appreciate it....See Morekellyamc
