Hi, WOuld you beable to share the total cost involved for this. Also doe sit includes insulation and heat to match the rest of the house. I would llike something like this to be attached to my master bedroom so I can have a room for my kids.
Thanks for your interest in a YardPod. The total cost of this custom YardPod was about $25,000. It includes insulation in the floor walls and roof, all recycled denim.
Once you attach a YardPod to an existing house, it becomes part of that house and must go through a complete planning and building permit process. If that is what you would like to do, I recommend that you talk to a local builder. YardPods are classified as "Detached Utility Structures" which do not normally need permits if they are 120 sq ft or under and are not used as a dwelling.
I hope that this helps in your decision making. I wish you success with your project. Best Regards Malcolm, CEO, YardPods
We can design YardPods as dwellings, normally larger than 120 sq ft, but they need to go through a full planning and building permit process, unless the location has special rules permitting "Second Units" on lots, such as Santa Cruz and Seattle.
The advantage of using the YardPod process is that we can prefabricate the walls, floor and roof in panels in the factory, making transportation lower cost than modular housing, and provide faster assembly than traditional construction.
I hope that this answers your question. Best Regards Malcolm, CEO, YardPods
