It looks very good James. Even though as you say it was a clients design build, it works fine. Once the Island has stools it will fill it out better. Has that naked look at the moment. The position of the wine rack might cause issues but overall it looks like a really clean and fresh kitchen. Plenty of natural light and the colours compliment each other. The extractor is a nice feature too. Everyone has different opinions as I see on here but if the client is happy with it then job done. Looks really well fitted too.....well done :)

Hi Houzz Community! My girlfriend and I have recently taken over my family's B&B. As it's now in the second generation we want to bring our feel to the home. We will be renovating the Kitchen in January 2019. We love bright colours with an environmentally friendly, greens, whites, greys, light browns etc. while also keeping it classy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Please view the pictures and thanks so much for your time! - The layout is shown on the drawing and attached photos - We use this kitchen to cook the breakfast for our guests and so everything in the kitchen has its purpose ( however doesn't mean things couldn't move - but it works now) - We think the table is quite large and possibly could make it smaller - seating area for 3 - 4 people - Do you think we could fit a small island with bar stools? Any thoughts on which color bar/counter top stools will look good in this kitchen . Photos attached here and I have included 2 dining chairs which have tan / orange fabric seats to give an idea . Any other ideas are welcome ..

In a year or two, we would like to renovate the kitchen/dining/living areas so I do not want to put a lot of money into the space right now... However, until that reno time comes, I would like to make a few small changes that will help modernize the space and brighten it up a bit I'm torn on what to do in this kitchen... I was thinking about staining the cabinets darker, painting the back splash tiles white & painting the walls... however... I'm a complete newbie and I'm not confident in my decisions at all. Few things to note, that table will not be there - I'm planning on getting a high, thin bar table (wood and steel) that will go above the radiator w/ 2 bar stools. I really like dark rustic & industrial design. I also don't plan on changing the flooring until reno day so I'll have to work around that as well. Any advice would be much appreciated :) Thank you!
