Hi Lisa, to add to Donny's comments, the cabinet/table was built of Eastern Black Walnut in large part by Donny's incredible shop crew in his amazingly equipped shop (I do not use those adjectives lightly) and assembled in the house (too large to fit through the door). The design was inspired by some unique Craftsman era detailing at the front entry, and in fact it was one of the owner's ideas to use the particular shape of the brackets that support the legs. It's a great experience when design ideas can work so well from a collaboration, it's as though the design has a life of its own. By the way, quality Black Walnut is becoming increasingly difficult to find.
