Hi Ivy - this is a Howdens kitchen. The majority of kitchen manufacturers will have standard depths / lengths as you have probably discovered! I don't think it was particularly thin - so probably the photography. If you want cabinetry below your island you could look for a supplier who has a choice of cabinetry depths - or somewhere like IKEA who do a shorter depth 370mm cabinet as well as standard 600mm deep cabinet. Your island top can then be made to whatever size you need (depending on the worktop material) but most can be cut to size and edged. Good luck!
