Do these curtains go??
Comments (11)One problem is that your curtains aren't full enough for the wide window. Houzz might have a formula but I found one here: http://www.ehow.com/way_6038775_many-should-hung-double-window_.html. Also, try this: remove the tie backs and let the curtains fall naturally. That should help a little with the fullness. Then buy pillows that bring in those colors. You can also add color to that bookcase by painting it the same color as the wall for a more built-in look. Add more collectibles or books to the shelves. Then find a large graphic poster for that long wall. Next pull the sofa and chairs closer to the fireplace so that they have at least two feet on the rug. Pull the end table closer to the furniture. Drop the picture on the right of the window down about 5". It's way too high....See MoreThese walls look too plain beside Red Brick wall, any ideas please?
Comments (20)I agree deepen the color, don't change it and yes art art art! maybe lessen the presence of the brick with the earlier suggestion of the metal cogs its and use traditional artwork pics/nature/paintings on the painted wall. I also like the idea to paint the part of the wall that juts out in a darker shade of the same color. Now you have lots to consider and lots to dismiss as well. Good luck and have fun...See Moreneed something to link the window coverings
Comments (15)I think it might work better to have blinds on the wall with the smaller windows (perhaps in a plain colour) and have curtains on the main stretch of windows, using the existing curtains to replace the small roman blinds. This would allow the fantastic view to be the main focus. I do think plain curtains would work well here but you perhaps aren't keen to change them as they are new? Could they be used elsewhere? I also agree re moving the sofas so they aren't at angles, it looks a bit strange. Maybe try them in a u shape around the fire. And perhaps painting the door frame white might make the room feel calmer. Where did you find your lovely footstool btw?...See MoreHelp needed with slanted wall in bedroom!
Comments (0)Hello, The masterbedroom in our new build will have a slanted wall (dont ask why...our architects notions!) I need your help to design the inside around this ‘problem’ and turn it into something nice. The only place the bed will fit comfortably is against this slanted wall. See below 'bedroom drawing' . We are considering a stub wall to make it even/straight again. Has anyone any ideas /pictures on how this could look? See the second picture ‘bedroom wall proposal’ which is something we sketched that might explain it better. Thanks very much. bedroom drawing see the slanted wall at the bottom of the picture. Ignore the steped walls -that is just our proposal. bedroom wall proposal - how it would look with a stub wall...See MoreBeckie Cave
