Comments (327)How will you pose for your Miss Photogenic photo op? Will you go with the Carmen Miranda fruit bowl tiara? Or would the Easter egg thingamadooeys suffice? Decisions, decisions..... Maybe Grover could photo shop each one with your dress so we can decide? We wouldn't want to break any decorating rules because we do have our reputations to uphold. Comments (5)Flowers in those flower boxes would be a good start, and then I'd tear out the conctrete or whatever the surface is next to the house and extend the driveway further out, closer to the camera, to make up for lost driveway space. The down spout must be removed from he driveway. The steps up to the house seem to be a confused assembly of different materials and should be reformed into a cohesive entry stairway, with plantings flanking it, or pots of greenery/flowers on it. The garage seems to be a different color from the house and if that is the came, I would change it echo the colors of the house. In the foreground of the photo is an opportunity for some beautiful landscaping. You have your work cut out for you, but nothing that you couldn't do over the next 3 months!...See MoreIdeas for georgian house landscape/renovation
Comments (4)May I suggest since you are going to be weed fighting for a time, that you cut a curving path or track to place dg over gravel on with a border, and rake in native wildflower seed after the next rain - see if you have a native plant society and phone to ask who is the commercial restoration seed supplier in your region ( it will be lovely things like lupine, lacy whites, ) They will have a stock mix for your area and that will bring you some simple loveliness whilst you determine more long term goals . .. the larger elements provide some nice shelter and enclosure here . . . possible you would want to go up the slope to where you've a nice view and make a larger area (again, using edge or pavers for edge, put down gravel then decomposed granite or chip seal (local term here, sorry) - something that will drain and provide a destination for a short ramble eventually, you might plant a garden along the way from here to there .. . don't tear anything out that is established . . as with trimming it will give you a mix of sizes so you can layer in the garden...See MoreTub be or not tub be...
Comments (73)I think it looks great so far. Many of the ads for claw foot tubs, and magazines, show them with encaustic/cement tile and plain white surround. Also, you did something creative and attractive with the tile layout. I love the nickel shine of your clawfoot legs too. If you can maybe get a corner shelf on one side of the wall, you'll have a place for soap, candle or bubble bath. And maybe hotel towel holder on another wall to get the height up. Congratulations and thanks for sharing....See MoreJoanna Biddolph
