need help with kitchen guys!!

just bought a beautiful new cream kitchen with dark brown marble worktops, the floor is also marble but a light colour..... what colour would you recommend paint the walls ?? and what colour tile for the back splash?? would really appreciate some help :) think my bf is going to kill me soon if i dont make my mind up! :):)

Can you post some photos? It would be good to see the marble color and pattern in particular before brainstorming about the backsplash as you don't want anything busy if your marble has a fairly busy veining pattern. But even without a photo, one safe choice could be matching subway tiles to your cabinet color. This would make the brown marble counters stand out as the feature of the kitchen.

Thanks for all the replies. I have the blind ordered so I cannot change this. However, if it were to be fitted to the outside frame of the window, it would be let down on top of the tap. I`m not planning on tiling, as we`ve recently repainted the kitchen. I am trying to attach some photos from this website to show examples of pelmets that may work. Is there a way to do this??

I do not see velvets and silks for a kitchen sink window sorry. There are plenty of gorgeous fabrics around with beautiful damask or geometric pattern that are striking, that could be found in a faux silk or linen. Velvet is something that I would never put in a kitchen. But it is your kitchen.

There's a lot of cream/same colour in that room. You could contrast or offset. Try glass fronted wall cabinets in, say, blue. Or open shelving to display pictures, books, colourful jars etc.

I think something like these tiles from Tile Style (http://tilestyle.ie/all-tiles/tiles/alchimia.html) could look really fresh or perhaps the herringbone tiles? Not sure where you can source these though but I love them. Good Luck!
