A niche would be a good way to add some drama without infringing on your circulation space. It doesn't have to be deep to be effective. You can do one simple vertical rectangle, and line the back with a mirror, or add some colour with paint, wallcovering or wood. It would be great if you could also add a recessed light fixture at the top. The attached images are perhaps too busy for your situation, but it gives you a good idea of what can be done. Good luck!

Thank you, Stan, for your advice. I was contemplating putting a similar light like yours above the cabinet, but decided I prefer lights on either side, as there is a lot of space which I'd like to fill a little. I will also put them on top of tiles, so another point to consider. The ones I had chosen only protrude 90 mm from the wall, so I wonder if they should protrude at least the same as the cabinet, which is 150 mm, to illuminate the face, when putting on make up or in general. Here is a picture of the lights I really liked...and another one in a room situation ( not my bathroom), but they are next to a mirror with minimal depth. I like them a lot, but am open to other options, just wondered about projection.

You really don't have any color scheme going on in here. I do see a gold range so I worked around that. Here are some ideas of colors you could add . I'm not crazy about accent walls, but you do need to add color to at least one of your walls - be it intense or even just a tint of color: Sherwin Williams Jetstream Sherwin Williams Sprout Sherwin Williams Composed I also added in a white or off white (or you could do color) back splash over your stove and counters. Once you have some color then you can add window dressings. I suggest roman shades, which you can get in many patterns and colors. Then find some art work that compliments your new colors - check on art.com, Overstock.com or Wayfair.com.

I am looking for help on chosing a colour for my kitchen walls. My kitchen units are painted with farrow and ball "satin slipper". Floor is American white oak tile. Dede
