Need help for my entrance hall wall!

Hi All
I have a blank wall which I'd love to do something with. It is the first thing you see when entering my home as it is right in front of the front door.The stairs are to the right and a wall of window to the left. I don't really want to do a gallery wall of pictures as I have some going up the stairs and there isn't really enough space for a piece of furniture... Any ideas greatly appreciated!

Comments (3)i was going to say tapestry or a glass mirrored effect, as well haha. or just a large painting that you will love to look at. your chandelier is very nice, but i've seen many with that kind of entrance, that they have those really long, pendent lighting, for a dramatic effect. but i'm thinking, you don't want to change that. or a giant clock. or one of those wall stickers. or animal heads haha. few ie attached...See MoreNeed help deciding what to use to floor my hallway!!
Comments (8)Maybe if you stuck to one colour scheme such as white and purple or grey and lime green, colours that compliment each other. You could have a cabinet on the larger side with some family photos or a mirror above it and maybe a single colour on the top half of the wall and a complimentary wallpaper on the bottom half. You could go for wood on the floor or a simple soft carpet but it might get muddy. You could also have a bench with storage underneath for shoes and bags, but try get a colour that matched the walls. Comments (2)Hi Odette! Have you had any progress with decorating? Hanging a mirror could be good in terms of light reflection and making a space seem bigger than it is. 6 years agoperhaps a vertical piece of chalk art in a black frame. Words relating to your family, names, mottos. Keep it simple. A mirror on that wall, would not be the ideal thing as you said it faces the door. The is not good feng shui. But if that does not matter to you at all an extra large full-length mirror would fit the space nicely. Something like the attached pictures

5 years agoA niche would be a good way to add some drama without infringing on your circulation space.
It doesn't have to be deep to be effective. You can do one simple vertical rectangle, and line the back with a mirror, or add some colour with paint, wallcovering or wood. It would be great if you could also add a recessed light fixture at the top. The attached images are perhaps too busy for your situation, but it gives you a good idea of what can be done. Good luck!
