Need a plan for my south facing patio

I have a 1951 semi detatched house and have the dilema of designing a patio. I love a country feel, and need as low maintainance as possible. something to merge in with the building yet give the feeling of space.

Could you load some photographs to give us an idea of what's involved. Surrounding materials and aspect are all important for a patio.

We have built this south facing house and want to put a patio area outside the French doors (kitchen & dining area) on the west facing side of the house. I'm trying to get ideas to make this area more private without losing the afternoon sunlight. My big problem is that the entrance driveway goes in front of the patio area. Any ideas or advice appreciated

Thanks Chemayne, yes, that is correct re: position of the bed. There is a small bedroom behind where the bed is currently and ultimately i'd like to turn it into a walk in robe. That's funny, i never considered the grey bed to be masculine, although my mum didn't like it so maybe that should have been a clue! I keep coming back to it though, but not too sure if it is too low for the room. Unfortunatley there doesn't seem to be many grey beds around to compare it with. As for those pictures, thank you. However i don't think any of them are my taste. They are all a bit busy i think. I like the white trim which i am going to get done. I think from these i'm leaing towards Ighter coloured walls as well. I think the blue walls on number 1 is a bit much and no:4 with different curtains would be okish too.
