Hello, I am moving to a new house near Guildford and will be re painting the whole house in neutral colours with off white woodwork and having carpet upstairs, but really don't want to have the stress and mess of removing the bathroom wall and floor tiles. I am trying to think of how I can keep the cottage/country/traditional feel with a modern twist, without removing the tiles. I will paint the door an off white. I do like wooden wall panels half way but wondering whether the blue tiles are worth keeping or what else I could do with the white tiles on the window wall and floor tiles which I dont like at all. I will change the sink to a vanity sink and toilet. Any help and ideas on what can be done without removing the tiles or what colours etc would look good would be appreciated! Photo attached. Hello. I'm building a modern H shaped bungalow, flat roof connecting 2 A roof bungalows. There will be a little stone facing on the connected flat roof section. It's a sandstone that actually comes from the land I'm building on but not too yellow. I have floor to ceiling windows almost completely around the house and one 4m slider. So a lot of big windows. I'm torn between a darker frame window like the ubiquitous anthracite or a more gentle approach like agate. My worry is inside. In the north facing bedrooms and east facing service rooms I'm happy to have white inside. But in my large south facing living and sitting and kitchen areas I def want some frame to the windows. My worry is that agate inside will be too light on the one hand and too tying in terms of a colour match on the other. Has anyone done agate on the outside all round but then like a dark colour inside on large windows to create the frame?
