Open plan wood effect tile
Comments (9)Have you considered luxury vinyl planks? Waterproof, damp mop, easy to replace, and softer on your feet. I have tile in half of my house and wish I could replace it. It's hard on your feet, especially when you're standing for long periods of time in the kitchen. If it cracks, it's a pain to replace. You have to keep plenty of extra on hand for replacement because cracks are inevitable, either from something dropping on them or from settling. The flooring person I spoke with told me they're selling vinyl in even high end installations. He said they just installed 2300 square feet in a million dollar penthouse condo. Hope this helps!...See MoreHelp - need advice on first floor plans?
Comments (1)I'm wondering if I share the ground floor plans would that make it easier to understand the house layout. As I'm thinking maybe the bathrooms have to be on one side of the house for plumbing reasons? Any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thank you...See MoreFloor plan advice please ❤️
Comments (3)Hi Sheona, No problem at all, I love doing them :) Glad you liked the previous plan, I know the feeling sometimes when you have been looking at something for so long it is impossible to make decisions :) I had a think last night about your other question about putting the utility near the kitchen. I can up with a few changes. I'm not sure if it is possible as I only had the plan to go on, but I thought I'd send it your way and it might help. My idea was to move the entrance to where the old utility room was, then put the new utility beside the kitchen in the old entrance way. I combined the old bathroom to make a bedroom, added a toilet and increased the side of the Den. As I said, these are just ideas and I have no idea if this is possible but hope it helps :) If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me :) Good luck with the build...See MoreHelp with floor plan
Comments (0)Hi everyone, Love this page and how amazing ye all are to solve a design problem. We have an old cottage with extension. Cottage is the large room at front 4.5m x 6.3 and extension is everything beyond 6.3 x 7.5m. There will be 3 bedrooms and bathroom upstairs, 2 above original cottage. We have redone roofs and floors, exterior doors and windows over time, this is a lengthy project as the funds just aren't there to do it all in one go. My issue is the design, I am looking at it every day for almost 2 years and keep changing. There is a load bearing wall at the back between two rooms. Services really need to be at back as cottage is very thick stone walls and would be nightmare for these self builders. The original layout has kitchen in the middle and bedroom out back with bathroom. We need a bedroom downstairs as 3 upstairs and we need 4 as 5 of us, too big age gap between boys, 14 years. There is a cottage next door to the right hence lack of windows there. There is a steel beam, dotted line to make space bigger. Please help. Major changes might not be afforded as we might never get it. Thanks...See MoreUser
