Help with design needed

Hello everyone... My mother own this very traditional looking sofa set and we are moving to a new place... I'm just wondering what colour scheme would you suggest for a living room around this sofa set? I think my mom would prefer a traditional style living room.
Sorry can't show you the rest of the picture ( the room is a mess) hahahaha
Just to tell you, this new room doesn't have a fire place and the television set is somewhere else, so the room is just for sitting and socializing...
(The room is slightly enclosed with just one wall opening up to another area)
The floor is still concrete at the moment and we are still planning to do something about it. So if any of you have a brilliant idea, that would be gggrrrrrrrreeeaatt... Thank you :)
