Just wondering what shade of green that is on the island and what kind of paint?

the cabinet company is called Diamond (also sold as Schrock). This kitchen is from a few years ago and unfortunately the color is discontinued. I believe they called it Moss Green

I think I'd have an island that would work in your current kitchen. I agree with you trying to match the perimeter cabinets will not work quite right. How about a stainless steel type island? Or an island with a butcher block top? Something totally different so it looks intentional.

The colour would depend on lots of variants. Such as what’s on the floor? how much light is there? Do you have a splash back what’s the counter top? That said would you consider painting the island a feature colour? Such as ink blue or emerald green? It would make your island a feature. Good luck
