Need help with shape and colour for 2 pendant lights over an island. Kitchen units are magma (brown) high gloss and cream

Do you have a preferred decor style? Do you like a more traditional look, something a little less ornate than traditional, contemporary....Could you show me pictures of the kitchen, if possible?

My kitchen is very modern. I think chrome, beige, clay colours would coordinate well. Would like a diameter of about 30cms for each pendant. Not terribly familiar on how to upload a picture. Sorry. Will try

if you're not going to center the dining room table under the light, then I'd tend toward a flush or semi-flush fixture, to de-emphasize the alignment. You might want to remove the medallion from the ceiling too. As for the kitchen it looks like you have decent overall lighting -- maybe you're looking for a couple of pendants over the island? simple glass globes, maybe? here are a few styles to start you out.

If you get a small flush mount fixture, it should be OK. Another solution would be to get a pendant fixture and swag the chain/cord over to the center of the island. I once had this problem in a client's dining room. We installed a chandelier centered over the table and used a ceiling medallion to hide the off-centered junction box. Does that make sense?

The colour would depend on lots of variants. Such as what’s on the floor? how much light is there? Do you have a splash back what’s the counter top? That said would you consider painting the island a feature colour? Such as ink blue or emerald green? It would make your island a feature. Good luck
