Been there and done it. In the end we opted for something quite dramatic. I painted the teen's walls in panels of dark chocolate brown with white panels. She has a square room, and this effectively divided the two walls into three zones. (the outer wall are windows) and the other wall I filled with an IKEA sliding cupboard in chocolate brown and mirror to bring in the light and negate the dark chocolate. This machiavellan scheme allowed me to bring in all the elements that go with deep chocolate but that change according to the girl's whims (we began with a deep to vivid fuschia colour on the bed spread, shades and accents - achieved by a bit of creative spray painting, and sheets in the sales section of a store). Sure enough a year later, she was tired, so we changed the accents to vivid green. (Picture below is unfinished first stage - fuschia) Next on the list I have planned is a lovely sea blue. The point is that the usual white is boring but the dark chocolate provides panels of drama (and zones on which to hang posters/frames etc). Her bedhead was also made in cream with removable buttons that can be changed according to whim!

If so it looks like the matching side table is being used for your vanity. If you can move the bed, use these on either side of the bed. Add small table lamps you can pick up cheap from a thrift store. Everything does not have to be new in a room to enhance the style. I'm with Barbara to find a pretty area rug you like. Maybe use the colors for new inspiration. Change your bedspread to a fluffy white comforter. Ikea.com has the neatest white net style lacy drapes for $3.99 a pair. They are very long & quite full so you can maybe buy 4 pairs to make them extra full. I don't know what your budget is however just making these few changes can help bring some new life & give you more inspiration. Oh, pick up a textured fluffy pink throw to drape over your easy chair. I know you must get fashion magazines. Go through some to find several fun photos, use a razor to cut them out & when you can buy some white frames for them to hang across from your bed to look at. Have some fun with it.

Hi. I'm not that keen on the paper with the rest of the room, it doesn't look bad at all but it doesn't look stunning either imo. Everything else looks to be more of a greige? I'd look at the same paper in truffle, sable, dark linen or even the pewter may work ( hard to tell colours on screen so would get samples of all!). I agree with the others, would go for plain bed linen and add pattern in cushions and/ or throw. It looks as if a chalk pink would work best with the greige. Maybe a chalky white for the remaining furniture. You could also break up the window ŵall by adding a trim and maybe Pom poms to the bottom of the blind. A little antique gold for accessories, lights etc would also work well.

We bought a wardrobe for my room and sold my chest of drawers. It turns out the old wardrobe was integrated into the floor so now we need to put an entirely new floor in.
