I am sick of my old bed room and want a make over! Any advice on what to do wit it ?

You have a lot to work with, and really your options are limitless but I think you could use new curtains and a modern rug to get a quick updated look. Keep in mind a good color scheme, using contrasting colors that compliment each other and google "mixing decorative" prints if you go that route as well. I'm new to this & still learning myself! Good luck!

Paint? Curtains change. Bedding too. Move &rearrange furniture. I would move bed away from window with two nightstands.

So I have just moved back home from college for a couple of months and I am in my old bedroom. It functions as my work space as well as for relaxing and obviously, sleep! As you can see from the pictures, all the furniture is placed in one corner of the room with a big empty space nearer the door. I won't be staying here for long and don't have much money to go out and buy new pieces but I'd like to rearrange the room so it's more balanced. I have a few pieces of furniture, and a single bed with built in wardrobes. The bedroom is awkwardly shaped and I am limited to how I can arrange my furniture. There is also a slanted roof to make things just a bit more awkward! Any tips you would have would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys :)

I am moving into a rental house with an attic bedroom. We're stuck with the painted walls and floor so will have to work around them. Your bed is beautiful, rather than using colour, why not keep the existing curtains and enhance them and the bed by adding texture in the same neutral palette, perhaps adding texture through a grass cloth type wallpaper, which is not that overpowering could be used on all the walls, adding a rug, and one or two big fluffy cushions and a throw. Further down the line I would balance the size of the bed with as big a locker I could fit either side of the bed, and a bench/ottoman at the end. Good luck, it looks like a lovely space!

Hi, it's a lovely room and you only need to make a few minor tweaks. The two accent pillows in brown in front of the bed pillows need to be removed. They are too large and shapeless. Remove the brown throw. Your bed linen is lovely next to the grey wallpaper. If you'd like accent cushions, I would go smaller, tailored and something with an a print in grey and white or a colour that pops. The grey objects on the side tables are lights? I would replace these with a silver base and white shade. Remove the objects from the window. You could add a mirror either over each side light or a rectangular version over the bed. Here's my room with a similar colour scheme. Have fun with your decorating!

Not sure what kind of budget you have...Center your bed on that wall, add 2 cute tables/nightstands. That built in desk area, I'd change the mirror to something with dimension or bling to it. Add a colorful bright little desk lamp there too. Add a nice area rug - something that picks up you knew colors. If you're into pink mix gray and pink like on your bed. The curtains should be a neutral open weave or sheers. With all the curves to your bed and built=ins, I'd go with solid curtains and bedspread, leaving the pattern in the rug.

It looks as though your room is a pretty good size. Do you have full reign in the room, such as removing the scalloping over the vanity area? Usually I like to place the bed as it faces you when you open the door to the room. Can you do that?

If so it looks like the matching side table is being used for your vanity. If you can move the bed, use these on either side of the bed. Add small table lamps you can pick up cheap from a thrift store. Everything does not have to be new in a room to enhance the style. I'm with Barbara to find a pretty area rug you like. Maybe use the colors for new inspiration. Change your bedspread to a fluffy white comforter. Ikea.com has the neatest white net style lacy drapes for $3.99 a pair. They are very long & quite full so you can maybe buy 4 pairs to make them extra full. I don't know what your budget is however just making these few changes can help bring some new life & give you more inspiration. Oh, pick up a textured fluffy pink throw to drape over your easy chair. I know you must get fashion magazines. Go through some to find several fun photos, use a razor to cut them out & when you can buy some white frames for them to hang across from your bed to look at. Have some fun with it.
