Dakkar grey and unknown island colour, what light could anyone recommend for beside the extractor fan or other accessoried

I would have only recessed lighting in the kitchen.

I agree that the dining room does not work as it is currently drawn. There is not enough room for the family room because of the position of the table plus the table fills the space and doesn't really fit there. You might consider widening the kitchen to allow room for the dining room to the right of the island. Square off the room. The door does not have to be at a 45 degree angle.....

A soft mossy or grey green would be my first impulse but Sarah's dark blue looks good. It depends on your kitchen ware. White porcelains will pop with the blue and earthy stoneware will go more with the soft greens. I'd add a shelf to extend from the cabinet across the tile and a pot rack or hooks over the stove.

I would definitely go for a larger kitchen therefore a swap. Also if structure allows to remove this little bit of unnecessary wall by current kitchen entrance would make the space more open.( I think in the other plan I see it is happening?) the outside door swap for a window is a very good idea in my mind.

Hi Gordon I would be of the opinion you are probably best starting with a good kitchen designer. From experience we find that architects and interior designers tend to prefer to have their clients visit us initially to plan the kitchen and then perhaps a little later the interior designers get a little more involved to ensure that the style, colours, materials work within the overall project of the room or house. best of luck with the project Barry
