Can't decide on new colour scheme

Existing bedroom scheme is very neutral with light wall colour , oak furniture and green accessories . Would like to build on this with perhaps dark browns and teal. How can I achieve this ?

There are numerous ways you can incorporate your color scheme - rug, drapery, bedding, wallpaper, etc. It depends how much you want to change or add. Going with white bedding and adding layers of colors (coverlette, pillows, shams and throw) is a good way to dress the bed. Decide if you want to paint room, have a focal wall or use wallpaper. Hi elconno, Not sure if you are in USA but I would suggest two colors by Sherwin-Williams called Upward and Wallstreet. The pic doesn't do the colors justice but the dark one I would put only on the wall your fridge is on - that includes the little strip above the cabinets. This will make the fridge disappear a little and it will be a great wall for a piece of art with a lot of color - it will really pop! The lighter color will go well with any teal accents you want and brighten the space.

fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area.Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa.

Hi Lisa, nice sofa. I had a red sofa for 10 years and loved it ( though mine was fabric) I've changed the kitchen/ living room and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I gave in and put in a grey leather sectional one and I must say it's much easier to decorate around. Are you in Ireland? Have you heard of the 1933 company, they have very nice suites. Red makes a big statement! Just my 2 cents worth, good luck!

Hi. I'm not that keen on the paper with the rest of the room, it doesn't look bad at all but it doesn't look stunning either imo. Everything else looks to be more of a greige? I'd look at the same paper in truffle, sable, dark linen or even the pewter may work ( hard to tell colours on screen so would get samples of all!). I agree with the others, would go for plain bed linen and add pattern in cushions and/ or throw. It looks as if a chalk pink would work best with the greige. Maybe a chalky white for the remaining furniture. You could also break up the window ŵall by adding a trim and maybe Pom poms to the bottom of the blind. A little antique gold for accessories, lights etc would also work well.
