Rachel was involved from the beginning and came up with beautiful, detailed, deer-proof plans for our 3.15 acres, focusing on native plants that don't require watering (once they're established) and coordinating with our builders. She purchased and planted most of the plants (we purchased and planted whatever worked for us, and she made up the difference) and helped coordinate other services for the hardscaping (concrete curbs around two self-contained areas), bark dusting and shrubbery-clearing. She even wrote detailed instructions for the subsequent steps and maintaining the landscaping. She remains interested and helpful and is very responsive to our questions. We consider ourselves very lucky to have her help!”

“Carol from Landscape Design in a Day helped us build the foundation of our new home landscaping project.. Even though I'm an avid gardener, I had never been faced with a totally blank canvas on a very public corner property with heavy foot traffic. I knew I needed some help to make my yard a showcase for incorporating food crops and garden rooms into the design. On a wet afternoon, we huddled under the small covered patio while she listened to my needs and starting drawing out options. She thoughtfully created paths that flowed through the property, developed a private work area by properly locating the garden shed, and found places within the landscape to highlight my garden benches and a spoke fence that has been in the family for generations. “Some years ago Visionscapes Northwest redesigned the landscaping at my home. I was so pleased with the work that when I purchased a second home to use as a rental, I called Pat again. The rental home had a completely unusable and downright dangerous back yard and it needed a complete overhaul. Pat saw this disaster area with her creative eye and developed a plan that not only minimized what I considered serious flaws but actually exploited them. Working respectfully within my budget, she listened to my thoughts on the garden and took the several ideas I had to a level I could never have done on my own. The resulting design is, simply put, a jaw-dropping "wow". The plan she came up with is elegant, flows naturally from one area to another, and makes the yard look larger than it really is. In addition, the space needs only minimal care to stay looking serene and inviting. She cleverly repurposed the stones in a decrepit retaining wall into a new wall elsewhere on the property, saving a large expense there. Pat seems to have a special affinity for using native plants, which of course work beautifully as they are adapted to our climate, and look as if they've always been in place, giving the design an established look very quickly. She supervised the installation, keeping the project on track and making necssary adaptations to the plan as we encountered a couple of surprises. The end result is just gorgeous and I am sure that her reasonable fee will be more than made up for by the cost savings inherent to a well designed landscape that is easy to maintain.”
