“Part way through the building of our home, we made contact with Janine Mendel. Her ideas for creating functional and beautiful outdoor spaces inspired us to carry the quality of the house design out to the boundaries of the block. Our house & garden project is now complete and the outcome is awesome - all spaces are lived in, it is easy to maintain, and we have an ongoing sense of Wow!! It is a case of the end result being greater than the sum of the individual parts as they - house design and landscape design - enliven one another. We strongly recommend working on a landscape design before signing off on a house design. We had met with a couple of landscaper designers during the house design stage but we didn't connect on a vision for our site, plus it is difficult to get your head around so many vital decisions in a short timeframe. Speak with Janine Mendel while planning your house and she will be able to visualise your finished project, advising on external floor treatments, location and levels of external steps, window positioning, creating the feel you want for the walk to your front door, what to include in your electrical plan for outdoor spaces, pool design and position, etc, etc. Integration of your house and garden design before work commences on your block will minimise the headaches and surprise expenses throughout your project.”
