“I have worked with Matthew and his team at Coates design on two houses now and have enjoyed the process immensely . I felt as though I was part of the process on both projects and found Matthew to be very attentive and respectful to what my wife and I were looking for. He has an exceptional feel for what the site calls for and what the layout of the house should be to achieve it. The spaces are always full of light, open and airy, with a feeling of bringing the outdoors to the inside space which was our most important goal for each house. His attention to detail is great and his plans are thorough and well documented, minimizing any problems during construction. Having lived in our first house designed by him for 17 years to date and enjoying our second house for 5 years now, we can’t imagine living in a home designed by anyone else.”

“Jonathan came recommended through a friend of ours who worked with him on her remodel and gave nothing but a glowing review. We had no other friends who could, in good faith, recommend their former contractors, so we immediately knew he was something special. We were looking to add a new room to our house as an ADU above the garage. Many other companies we spoke to either quoted astronomically high or were simply unresponsive. Jonathan was immediately a very clear communicator, a straight shooter, and offered solutions that others did not propose to make all of our asks a reality. After the initial meeting, we threw in a curveball of wanting to replace all of the windows and doors on the main house as well. He was able to fold this into the plans and re-adjust the schedule and price accordingly. He is a diligent time manager and kept each part of the process moving, and even nudging us when the ball was in our court. Most importantly, he is extraordinarily responsive. Whatever question we had (and we had a lot of them), he would take the time to clearly explain the details of the situation. He and his team are professional and courteous (shout out to Carlos!) and, since we stayed in the house during the re-model, aimed to make the process as unobtrusive as possible. We even asked him a question two months after the job finished and he responded immediately and helped send a team to handle what we needed. Above and beyond. For all of these reasons and more, we highly recommend Jonathan and his team for all of your contracting needs!”

“I highly recommend everyone at AAHA studios but especially Harper, Sonja, and Jesse. We converted our garage into livable space and from start to finish they listened to our ideas, provided insight as to the practicality of our ideas, and delivered beautiful renderings and interior design packages for our house. Our contractor even noted that he has never seen such great thorough renderings, which saved us time and money on the construction side. Through the whole process, Harper and her team stayed active and focused on our project and continued to advocate for us until the absolute final day. They cared about the final product just as much as we did. Jesse was given a broad idea for our interior design and delivered a perfect design to complement the existing house while making some overall design changes we wanted. The team was always patient and happy to explain their thought process. I would work with them again and again and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality and true professionalism.”
