“I highly recommend Talan Warden Construction. I have a few little houses that are desperately in need of some updating, but can only be done when the house is empty, which means lots of little jobs, infrequently. I know Talan is always busy with big jobs, but he does his best to squeeze my little jobs into his schedule. He does a great job making my projects seem important to him, and the craftsmanship is top notch. My houses are OLD, but Talan and his crew are good about letting me keep the character, without losing the integrity of the renovations. “Design and execution of remodel that opened kitchen and separate dining room into large open kitchen/dining area. At design level worked well with owners to develop plan. Very knowledgeable regarding materials, as well as up to challenges presented by some aspects of original design, such as ceiling heat that constrained lighting choices. Design team covered range of expertise necessary for the job. Excellent management of the building phase. Workers well coordinated to keep job moving forward. Adhered closely to time line and budget.”

“Our job was a complete remodel of our kitchen which included moving a wall and completely gutting the flooring in the kitchen, entry, laundry and second bathroom. We had a heated tile floor, custom designed cabinetry, recessed ceiling lights, appliances, windows and countertops installed. Nathalie Pillsbury listened to our "wants", made recommendations, met us for many product decisions, addressed our concerns and inevitable changes and was genuinely involved in our project. Mike Roloff hired excellent subcontractors, so that the finished product is outstanding. (Of particular note was the amazing "granite guy", Michael Ambrose, of De La Tierra Stoneworks). This company obtained the necessary permits and held to an agreed upon written timeline. All in all, a very satisfying, albeit disruptive as any remodeling/construction project is, experience. Kudos!”

“Mountainwood Homes performed magic on our 1986 galley kitchen. On Joel's first visit, he saw what the other contractors missed: what we thought was a bearing wall was only holding up the balcony. Reducing the size of this underused space allowed expansion of the kitchen below and removal of an unnecessary hallway. The dated drop ceiling and recessed light panel were replaced with a vaulted ceiling and hanging track lighting. Even though the original attic space above the range had access to the roof, the hood was not vented. The old electric range had a downdraft that never worked well and a small oven. The new kitchen sports an island gas cooktop, overhead vent with a chimney extending up through the vaulted ceiling, and a 30" wall convection oven. Heather provided great design with granite, backsplash, paint, and fixtures. Cabinetry by Cutting Edge was a perfect fit. We also extended the hardwood flooring into the dining room. The Mountainwood team was flexible as changes were needed, finished the project on time and produced great results.”
