北側の高窓から入る安定した光は白い壁や天井に反射し、空間全体を柔らかく包み込む。
またこの吹抜けは、朝は東の玄関から、日中は2階の大きな開口部からも光が射し込む為、北側に位置しながらも一日を通して程良い明るさに保たれている。
