This private residence and backyard retreat in Dallas, Texas features an expansive natural pool and water feature with the addition of a new outdoor pool pavilion for outdoor entertaining. This new pavilion features detailed wood columns, a slate roof, stone fireplace, Big Ass fan, built-in seat benches and an outdoor shower on the backside. Lush landscaping and a personal putting green are also additional amenities provided to this outdoor space.

Our client has a large collection of bonsai trees and wanted an exhibition space for the extensive collection and a workshop to tend to the growing plants. Together we came up with a plan for a beautiful garden with plenty of space and a water feature. The design also included a Japanese-influenced pavilion in the middle of the garden. The pavilion is comprised of three separate rooms. The first room is features a tokonoma, a small recessed space to display art. The second, and largest room, provides an open area for display. The room can be accessed by large glass folding doors and has plenty of natural light filtering through the skylights above. The third room is a workspace with tool storage. World-Inspired Garden and Outdoor Space with a Water Feature Ideas and Designs

Our gardens and outside spaces deserve as much attention as our interiors – they can provide the first impression of our homes to visitors, a sanctuary to escape to in warm weather and an additional living and entertaining space. While not all of us are blessed with large world-inspired gardens and bags of outside space, there are plenty of ways of improving what you do have and making it work for you. Perhaps you only have a roof terrace or balcony? You can still get green-fingered with plant pots and raised flower beds, and you can create an outdoor haven with decking, seating, outdoor lighting and various accessories to entice everyone outside. If you do have a bit of space to play with outside, then aside from a lawn in your world-inspired garden, you could add some extra elements to help you enjoy the space even more. Adding a patio will give you the perfect area for dining, lounging or even a bit of outdoor cooking, and if you choose to go for a veranda you’ll have a bit of shelter from the hot sun or the rain while still enjoying being outdoors. If space and budget aren’t too much of a problem then a swimming pool or hot tub could be next on your list.
