Simply Baths & Kitchens
This Connecticut couple transformed their outdated, cramped master bathroom into a soothing Caribbean retreat. By maximizing the existing space and smoothing the transition between features, the designers at Simply Baths, Inc. helped the homeowners achieve a space that is as functional as it is fashionable.

To help the room feel more open and bright we used a 12 x 24 polished white tile from Daltile and installed it vertically in the shower to give the room height. The color is Gesso in a gloss nish from the Composition Collection. We also ran the 1 x 2 mosaic vertically as an accent strip down the center of the shower xtures as well as the back wall accentuating the simple but necessary shampoo niche.

Step into this beautiful blue kid's bathroom and take in all the gorgeous chrome details. The double sink vanity features a high gloss teal lacquer finish and white quartz countertops. The blue hexagonal tiles in the shower mimick the subtle linear hexagonal tiles on the floor and give contrast to the organic wallpaper.

The design of this remodel of a small two-level residence in Noe Valley reflects the owner's passion for Japanese architecture. Having decided to completely gut the interior partitions, we devised a better-arranged floor plan with traditional Japanese features, including a sunken floor pit for dining and a vocabulary of natural wood trim and casework. Vertical grain Douglas Fir takes the place of Hinoki wood traditionally used in Japan. Natural wood flooring, soft green granite and green glass backsplashes in the kitchen further develop the desired Zen aesthetic. A wall to wall window above the sunken bath/shower creates a connection to the outdoors. Privacy is provided through the use of switchable glass, which goes from opaque to clear with a flick of a switch. We used in-floor heating to eliminate the noise associated with forced-air systems.
