Country Bathroom with a Shower/Bath Combination Ideas and Designs
Revival by DesignWhen we were asked by our clients to help fully overhaul this grade II listed property. We knew we needed to consider the spaces for modern day living and make it as open and light and airy as possible. There were a few specifics from our client, but on the whole we were left to the design the main brief being modern country with colour and pattern. There were some challenges along the way as the house is octagonal in shape and some rooms, especially the principal ensuite were quite a challenge.

Our client came to us with a vision for their family dream house that offered adequate space and a lot of character. They were drawn to the traditional form and contemporary feel of a Modern Farmhouse.
MCHUGH SOLUTION:
In showing multiple options at the schematic stage, the client approved a traditional L shaped porch with simple barn-like columns. The entry foyer is simple in it's two-story volume and it's mono-chromatic (white & black) finishes. The living space which includes a kitchen & dining area - is an open floor plan, allowing natural light to fill the space.

KSDesigns LLCThis modern farmhouse bathroom has an extra large vanity with double sinks to make use of a longer rectangular bathroom. The wall behind the vanity has counter to ceiling Jeffrey Court white subway tiles that tie into the shower. There is a playful mix of metals throughout including the black framed round mirrors from CB2, brass & black sconces with glass globes from Shades of Light , and gold wall-mounted faucets from Phylrich. The countertop is quartz with some gold veining to pull the selections together. The charcoal navy custom vanity has ample storage including a pull-out laundry basket while providing contrast to the quartz countertop and brass hexagon cabinet hardware from CB2. This bathroom has a glass enclosed tub/shower that is tiled to the ceiling. White subway tiles are used on two sides with an accent deco tile wall with larger textured field tiles in a chevron pattern on the back wall. The niche incorporates penny rounds on the back using the same countertop quartz for the shelves with a black Schluter edge detail that pops against the deco tile wall.

Harris Renovations, LLCWhat was once a dark, unwelcoming alcove is now a bright, luxurious haven. The over-sized soaker fills this extra large space and is complimented with 3 x 12 subway tiles. The contrasting grout color speaks to the black fixtures and accents throughout the room. We love the custom-sized niches that perfectly hold the client's "jellies and jams."
Kimberlee Marie InteriorsIt’s always a blessing when your clients become friends - and that’s exactly what blossomed out of this two-phase remodel (along with three transformed spaces!). These clients were such a joy to work with and made what, at times, was a challenging job feel seamless. This project consisted of two phases, the first being a reconfiguration and update of their master bathroom, guest bathroom, and hallway closets, and the second a kitchen remodel.
In keeping with the style of the home, we decided to run with what we called “traditional with farmhouse charm” – warm wood tones, cement tile, traditional patterns, and you can’t forget the pops of color! The master bathroom airs on the masculine side with a mostly black, white, and wood color palette, while the powder room is very feminine with pastel colors.
When the bathroom projects were wrapped, it didn’t take long before we moved on to the kitchen. The kitchen already had a nice flow, so we didn’t need to move any plumbing or appliances. Instead, we just gave it the facelift it deserved! We wanted to continue the farmhouse charm and landed on a gorgeous terracotta and ceramic hand-painted tile for the backsplash, concrete look-alike quartz countertops, and two-toned cabinets while keeping the existing hardwood floors. We also removed some upper cabinets that blocked the view from the kitchen into the dining and living room area, resulting in a coveted open concept floor plan.
Our clients have always loved to entertain, but now with the remodel complete, they are hosting more than ever, enjoying every second they have in their home.

Landmark HomesThis 2-story home boasts an attractive exterior with welcoming front porch complete with decorative posts. The 2-car garage opens to a mudroom entry with built-in lockers. The open floor plan includes 9’ceilings on the first floor and a convenient flex space room to the front of the home. Hardwood flooring in the foyer extends to the powder room, mudroom, kitchen, and breakfast area. The kitchen is well-appointed with cabinetry featuring decorative crown molding, Cambria countertops with tile backsplash, a pantry, and stainless steel appliances. The kitchen opens to the breakfast area and family room with gas fireplace featuring stone surround and stylish shiplap detail above the mantle. The 2nd floor includes 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and a laundry room. The spacious owner’s suite features an expansive closet and a private bathroom with tile shower and double bowl vanity.
Ellsworth Design BuildThe home wasn't built with a bathroom, so we tried to imagine what it could have looked like had it been added in the 20's, the period of the existing clawfoot tub. The Greek key motif added some interest, the console sink saved space in this tight bath. The wainscoting is nearly entirely original, a few rotted boards got replaced using wood salvaged from elsewhere.
