Planet FurnitureA light, bright open plan kitchen with ample space to dine, cook and store everything that needs to be tucked away.
As always, our bespoke kitchens are designed and built to suit lifestyle and family needs and this one is no exception. Plenty of island seating and really importantly, lots of room to move around it. Large cabinets and deep drawers for convenient storage plus accessible shelving for cook books and a wine fridge perfectly positioned for the cook! Look closely and you’ll see that the larder is shallow in depth. This was deliberately (and cleverly!) designed to accommodate a large beam behind the back of the cabinet, yet still allows this run of cabinets to look balanced.
We’re loving the distinctive brass handles by Armac Martin against the Hardwicke White paint colour on the cabinetry - along with the Hand Silvered Antiqued mirror splashback there’s plenty of up-to-the-minute design details which ensure this classic shaker is contemporary yes classic in equal measure.
Davonport Kitchen & HomeDavonport Holkham shaker-style cabinetry with exposed butt hinges was chosen for a classic look and its smaller proportions in this Victorian country kitchen. Hand painted in a beautiful light stone (Slate 11 – from Paint & Paper Library) and heritage green (Farrow & Ball’s studio green), the colour scheme provides the perfect canvas for the antique-effect brushed brass accessories. A traditional style white porcelain butler sink with brass taps is positioned in front of the large sash window, providing a stylish focal point when you enter the room. Then at the heart of the kitchen is a freestanding-style island (topped with the same white quartz worktop as the rest of the room). Designed with plenty of storage in the way of cupboards and drawers (as well as breakfast bar seating for 2), it acts as a prep table that is positioned in easy reach of the professional quality Miele induction hob and ovens. These elements help nod to the heritage of the classic country kitchen that would have originally been found in the property.
Out of the main cooking zone, but in close proximity to seating on the island, a breakfast cupboard/drinks cabinet houses all of Mr Edward’s coffee gadgets at worktop level. Above, several shelves finished with opulent mirrored glass and back-lit lights showcase the couples’ selection of fine cut glassware. This creates a real wow feature in the evening and can be seen from the couples’ large round walnut dining table which is positioned with views of the English-country garden. The overall style of the kitchen is classic, with a very welcoming and homely feel. It incorporates pieces of charming antique furniture with the clean lines of the hand painted Davonport cabinets marrying the old and the new.
Zara Kitchen DesignKitchen is a mix of classic and modern styles with the island in a concrete flat door and the U shape in Hartforth Blue shaker. The Silestone worktops are in Bianco River which works really well with both the door finishes.
The space was a major change from the original layout with the backdoor being blocked in and the creation of an island with seating on end and side.
piquThis recently completed provenance by piqu kitchen design makes the most of the limited space available and whilst not the biggest project, everything has been included that you would need. Designed and handcrafted in our workshop in Orpington, the end result is very clean and uncluttered and we absolutely love the cool and calming colours from Farrow & Ball – Treron and School House White coupled with the brass fittings, lighting and Quorn stone floor chosen by our clients.
British Standard by Plain EnglishThe second project for Edit 58's Lisa Mehydene, this time in London. The requirement was one long run and no wall cupboards, giving a completely open canvas above the worktops.
Higham FurnitureWe love this inset handle Shaker kitchen in Essex. It has plenty of worktop and prep space and a large amount of storage. The range, fridge freezer and sink are at a close proximity to each other, and there is even more storage on the opposite side of the room (not seen here). The cabinets are painted in Ho Ho Green by Little Greene, the handles are our bespoke inset handle in burnished brass and the worktops are 30mm, polished SG Carrara quartz. The client opted for Amtico flooring which looks beautiful with the white painted walls and green cupboards.
New Space ArchitectureThere are so many things to consider when designing an extension for open-plan family living; how you enter the space, how you connect the room with the garden, how the different areas within the space interact and flow to name a few... This project allowed us to bring all of these aspects together in an harmonious fashion by tying in an elegant modern extension with a period traditional home. Key features include a parapet flat roof, internal crittall doors and full length glazing and sliding doors helping to bring the outside in. A simple yet elegant design, perfectly formed for modern family life.

Idesign Interiors (SW) LtdA stunning smooth painted Shaker style kitchen in the complementary colours of Farrow & Ball's Elephants Breath and Pink Ground was designed and made to suit this new build home in the village of Winscombe, Somerset.
The house was designed to encourage open plan living and the kitchen with its large central island reflects this.
The island was created for the family, allowing them to meet together for a casual supper or to prepare and serve a meal for a larger gathering. The customers were keen to maximise the island surface but didn't want to loose floor space. A sturdy gallows bracket was made and painted in the same Pink Ground colour to coordinated with and to support the weight of the extra deep overhang.
Colliers KitchensA stunning bespoke painted kitchen designed and installed as part of a complete house renovation. The kitchen can be accessed through a bespoke bookcase in the living room. Painted in Little Greene Basalt and Urbane Grey, with White Arabesque Silestone worktops. The creation of a false chimney gives the kitchen a focal point. Siemens appliances have been combined with Liebherr French door Fridge Freezer.
Bathroom + Kitchen ElevenFor the island, we added hidden cupboard space under the seating area, for the seldom used items. Also, incorporating a drawer with a double plug and USB point. Hiding unsightly cables with the ease of charging at the same time. To complement the curved island top, we mirrored this on the ceiling to enhance a softness to the design.
To eradicate the need of an overhead extractor fan, we used a Bora Pure recirculation extractor hob. The optimal airflow offers reduced noise when used and all odours are immediately captured at surface height. Perfect when entertaining.
Higham FurnitureWith its painted shaker-style cabinets featuring our bespoke inset handles, this kitchen is a visual delight. The island stands out in a captivating dark green tone (Pompeian Ash by Little Greene) while the main cabinetry is graced with a lighter shade (Little Greene's Slaked Lime Deep). Embracing functionality, the pantry to the right of the kitchen is a storage haven, ensuring a tidy kitchen by concealing any chaos.
