After reconfiguring the drive, our team re-aligned the secondary walk toward the family parking area. Massed woody plants, perennials, and groundcover downplay the secondary entry from visitors, and are repeated around the property to create a consistent planting plan.

The design for the new custom stepped redwood fence and gate incorporated a narrow trellis top for Akebia vines. The horizontal slats are expressed with a modern reveal but there are no gaps, for privacy. The topiary trees are Majestic Beauty Hawthorns, which will quickly bulk up in height and spread and create even more privacy from neighboring houses. Plants include Ostrich Fern, Sensitive Fern, Carex 'evergold', Native Bottlebrush Buckeye, Astilbe, Anemone, Virginia Bluebells, Japanese Painted Fern, Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea', Woodland Phlox, and Jack Frost Brunnera. Several types of stone were used to create the rock swale: Smooth Blue Mexican Pebble Beach Stone, Granite and Quartz Boulders.
