Impeccably Designed Homes by Donna Hoffman
The fine 19th century inspired wood furnishings with their inlay and silk-like sheen dance amidst rich, chocolate brown walls, an embellished ceiling and marvelous mid-century leaning dining chairs that wink with contrast brown trim. Sleek embroidered silk draperies are cut for fullness and the buttery gold fixtures and accessories infuse the room with a fresh, youthful vibe.

We Got Lites
During the mid-eighteenth century, the Georgian style became immensely popular, not only in England, but also in Colonial America. The "Colonial" home was influenced by the Georgian style, characterized by a sense of proportion, balance, and carefully thought out details. Furniture and objects of the time were of a larger scale, yet with a lighter feeling than earlier periods. This lighter feeling transmitted grace, elegance, and prominence, and allowed details to become more of the focal point, rather than the principle elements of the structure. The Georgian Court Collection reflects those earlier influences with a well-balanced proportions, attractive brass finished details, and amber glass with a marbleized finish and decorative ring. Designed by Charles Kelton.

This dining room features a lot of contrasts and textures. The dark chocolate walls contrast with the crisp white trim and ceiling. The rough, reclaimed wood table is combined with upholstered linen host and hostess chairs and cane backed side chairs. The transitional drum chandelier adds a touch of polish to the room.

Last Detail Interior Design
Since this room is the first thing you see when you enter the home, it needed to be striking and project a gracious mood that was both stylish and comfortable and just a tad unexpected. So, NOT a room of brown furniture. The table had to be the gathering place for the family and so the choice of a large round trestle table in a light finish made the most sense. Adding tailored chairs with dressmaker details gave a little fashion flare to the room. Brass and metal became the other element that unified the design. A graphic brown and white carpet brought the space together nicely.
The large cream matte around the small images of the art is as important as the image itself as it provides contrast with the dark walls and a clean, contemporary feel. I liked the mix of a traditional brass framed mirror with the more contemporary art. Other art not seen in the pictures are colorful abstracts.

Contrasting wall paint and stark white wainscoting makes a bold statement, yet the subdued hue keeps the overall effect tranquil in the formal dining room of the Sienna model.
