the bamboo is a clumping variety called Bambusa eutuldoides viridi-vittata , Asian lemon bamboo. This variety is a clumper and you do not need to contain it, however, do allow an 8'by 10' area for its ultimate growth. Bamboo does require constant maintenance and you will need to do some research for the specific variety you choose. Once planted, it will become a beautiful focal point and add a stunning tropical accent. Photo Credit: Sherwood Cox

This striking small garden has been designed to provide a full picture from the open plan interior living space. An internal kitchen/ dining area flows seamlessly into a generously proportioned outdoor entertaining space featuring a large built-in seating area, barbecue and fridge.
Polished concrete and grey tones carried through from the house are accessorised with contrasting colour pops provided by the soft furnishings and the surrounding greenery. To ensure the garden is low maintenance, artificial lawn is utilised alongside concrete pavers and gravel. Predominantly evergreen planting ensures a permanent sense of privacy and seclusion, even in the winter months when a lot of gardens can begin to feel bare and overlooked.

A contemporary roof terrace designed to be a place to entertain and relax. Planted with predominately evergreen plants to give year-round structure, texture and privacy. Powder-coated steel planters were made in differing shapes, heights and colours to give more interest, and reflect the light. Some planters were placed on wheeled bases so that they could be moved around for large parties! The planting was also wind tolerant with a flowing colour pallet of lilac and white. We installed an irrigation system to water the plants and shots of colour came from cushions (outdoor fabric) and ethnic floor cushions. High quality outdoor lighting gave the space atmosphere with additional hanging lanterns used with large candles.

This area is a leach field, part of my clients septic system. Having enough lawn they asked that I come up with another solution. This field changes from month to month with different color schemes.
