This Bespoke kitchen has a run of kitchen cabinets wrapped in stainless steel with d-bar handles. The worktop is Calacatta Medici Marble with a back wall panel and floating shelf. A Gaggenau gas hob is set into the marble worktop and has a matching Gaggenau oven below it. An under-mount sink with a brushed brass tap also sits in the worktop. The 'MIAMI' Biefbi kitchen was born from the idea of reviving the styles which made the brand, BERTONE, a global success by tracing its stories and values from past generations to today which now embodies future technologies. Design and usability are perfectly combined in this project, where the balance between refined aesthetics and ergonomics originate creative solutions which don’t neglect the functional aspects, for a daily experience in the name of accessibility and practicality. Characterized by forms and sinuous lines which match harmoniously to the straight lines, MIAMI proposes a contemporary design with some vintage touches, emphasized by the elegant use of sophisticated materials such as Peltrox® for the countertop and backsplash use. This innovative steel, combines the unsurpassed characteristics of stainless AISI 304 to the warmth, finishing and pewter tradition. The color palette was taken directly from the heritage of Bertone’s brand, indicating as center of this new concept a color which marked the automotive design history, orange, very dear to Bertone and also used for the legendary Lamborghini Miura. Ortus Exteriors - This beautiful one-acre home needed an even more beautiful outdoor upgrade! The pool features a large tanning ledge, an elevated back wall with 3 sheer-descent waterfalls, a TurboTwist slide, and PebbleSheen Irish Mist finish. Travertine pavers were used for the decking. The elevated spa has a waterfall spillway and a curved ledge with smooth 1" tile. The 600 sq. ft. pool cabana is perfect for those hot Texas summers! Besides the convenient bathroom, outdoor shower, and storage space, there's an entire kitchen for backyard chefs. Granite counter tops with outlets for appliances and a sink will take care of all the prep work, and a stainless steel grill with a side burner and smoker will take care of the meats. In the corner, a built-in vented stone fireplace with a mounted TV and seating area allows for movies, shows, and football games. Outside the drop-ceiling cabana is a gas fire pit with plenty of seating for s'mores nights. We put on the finishing touches with appropriate landscaping and lighting. A cabin in Western Wisconsin is transformed from within to become a serene and modern retreat. In a past life, this cabin was a fishing cottage which was part of a resort built in the 1920’s on a small lake not far from the Twin Cities. The cabin has had multiple additions over the years so improving flow to the outdoor space, creating a family friendly kitchen, and relocating a bigger master bedroom on the lake side were priorities. The solution was to bring the kitchen from the back of the cabin up to the front, reduce the size of an overly large bedroom in the back in order to create a more generous front entry way/mudroom adjacent to the kitchen, and add a fireplace in the center of the main floor. A kitchen designer or fitter can help you to decide the layout of your kitchen in terms of where to place your kitchen units, appliances and island (if you’re having one), but if you prefer to handle this yourself you can focus on where you want your key elements of your kitchen to be – the oven, hob, sink and fridge. Of course you might be constricted by space, but try to envisage the easiest and most efficient layout based on how you usually like to cook and prepare your food. If you’re fed up of always having to carry dirty pans and pots across the room to the sink, place the sink closer to your oven and hob. Should I include a kitchen island?

Kitchen island ideas are abundant these days; it seems most kitchen designs include a kitchen island, if not multiple islands. However, if the layout doesn’t work, especially if you have a small kitchen, then there’s no necessity to add in a kitchen island. You can add a breakfast bar or counter to your existing kitchen units, or stick with a good old-fashioned dining table if you don’t need the extra work surfaces. That said, if you do have the room, take a look at some kitchen island ideas to see if the designs inspire you for your kitchen. There are a huge variety of island designs to cater to different needs – you can have sinks, ovens, hobs, wine storage and all sorts of drawers and organisers built-in, you can have separate bars and counters that extend from your island, or you could go for a kitchen island on wheels to make your kitchen layout more versatile.

How do I choose my kitchen units and cabinets?

When picking out kitchen units and cupboard styles for a fitted kitchen, you’ll first want to consider the more practical questions – how many units do you need? How many cupboards and drawers do you need? Do you need extra kitchen storage built into your units? It’s always best to overestimate how much kitchen storage you’ll need as we all tend to have a habit of filling up whatever current space we have to the maximum. Next you can consider kitchen cabinet style and colour. Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. However, going for raised or recessed panel work in a striking colour such as dark blue, green or black can still work with contemporary kitchen ideas. White kitchens can give a sleek and clean feel, but remember you may have to do a bit more cleaning of those cupboard doors if you want everything to stay shiny and fresh. However, there are now lots of pull out compartments and drawers with trays and shelving that can act as mini kitchen pantries, and you can install handy cupboard organisers that fit onto the inside of the door to make the most of your cupboard space. You can also look at corner drawers and cupboards that open up to reveal lots of extra storage. Kitchen ideas and accessories such as baskets, trolleys and storage jars are both aesthetically pleasing and practical as they give you extra storage space.
