The existing cabinets were replaced with new white Showplace EVO cabinetry in an Edgewater door style. A long narrow island was designed into the kitchen to increase prep and storage space. The cabinets were topped with Silestone Blanco Orion Quartz countertops and complemented with a Daltile Minute Mosaix™ tile backsplash in a Chenille White herringbone. Creating a natural flow between the rooms, Riverside laid CoreTec Bastion Elm luxury vinyl flooring. Finally, black hardware, new appliances, and contemporary glass pendants round out this incredible kitchen transformation.

They have been calibrated to 5/8” in thickness to ease installation of modern use. They come in random sizes and could be installed in either a running bond formation or a random ‘Versailles’ pattern. Their durable nature makes them an excellent choice for indoor and outdoor use. They are unaffected by extreme climate and easily withstand heavy use due to the nature of their hard molecular structure.

In this kitchen, Medallion Providence flat panel door style cabinet in Cherry with Amaretto stain with ebony glaze and highlight were installed. On the countertop is Cambria Cannongate quartz and a A 5’ Galley workstation with bamboo accessories and dual tier condiment and wash basin were installed. The backsplash materials are Limestone Crema Beveled 3x6 tile. Over the stove is a 36” Cavalier Stainless Steel hood.

Modernizing a mid-century Adam's hill home was an enjoyable project indeed. The kitchen cabinets are modern European frameless in a dark deep gray with a touch of earth tone in it. The golden hard integrated on top and sized for each door and drawer individually. The floor that ties it all together is 24"x24" black Terrazzo tile (about 1" thick). The neutral countertop by Cambria with a honed finish with almost perfectly matching backsplash tile sheets of 1"x10" limestone look-a-like tile.

Opening up the kitchen to make a great room transformed this living room! Incorporating light wood floor, light wood cabinets, exposed beams gave us a stunning wood on wood design. Using the existing traditional furniture and adding clean lines turned this living space into a transitional open living space. You can add a breakfast bar or counter to your existing kitchen units, or stick with a good old-fashioned dining table if you don’t need the extra work surfaces. There are a huge variety of island designs to cater to different needs – you can have sinks, ovens, hobs, wine storage and all sorts of drawers and organisers built-in, you can have separate bars and counters that extend from your island, or you could go for a kitchen island on wheels to make your kitchen layout more versatile.

How do I choose my kitchen units and cabinets?

It’s always best to overestimate how much kitchen storage you’ll need as we all tend to have a habit of filling up whatever current space we have to the maximum. Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. However, going for raised or recessed panel work in a striking colour such as dark blue, green or black can still work with contemporary kitchen ideas. White kitchens can give a sleek and clean feel, but remember you may have to do a bit more cleaning of those cupboard doors if you want everything to stay shiny and fresh. You can also look at corner drawers and cupboards that open up to reveal lots of extra storage.
