Mary Ellen’s collection is a minimalistic and romantic inspired set. It has a touch of classic charm while maintaining a modern European aesthetic. One of our absolute favorite Instagram accounts is @maryellenskye. We love the design aesthetic of all her pictures. Her minimalistic approach with a flare of flowers, old charm and of course Nashville was enough for us to know we had to work on a collection with her. Mary Ellen's collection is a complete reflection of her minimalistic yet romantic love for home decor. Her home is inspired by a touch of southern charm with lots of flowers and nude tones. Due to the house being located on a peninsula, the interior spaces visually connect to the water on three sides. Sliding glass doors pocket back to reveal the view. Terrazzo floors blend with white walls and ceilings.

Двухкомнатная квартира площадью 84 кв м располагается на первом этаже ЖК Сколково Парк. Проект квартиры разрабатывался с прицелом на продажу, основой концепции стало желание разработать яркий, но при этом ненавязчивый образ, при минимальном бюджете. За основу взяли скандинавский стиль, в сочетании с неожиданными декоративными элементами. С другой стороны, хотелось использовать большую часть мебели и предметов интерьера отечественных дизайнеров, а что не получалось подобрать - сделать по собственным эскизам. В спальне все предметы, за исключением шкафа, произведены по нашим эскизам. The redesign of this 2400sqft condo allowed mango to stray from our usual modest home renovation and play! Our client directed us to ‘Make it AWESOME!’ and reflective of its downtown location. Ecologically, it hurt to gut a 3-year-old condo, but…… partitions, kitchen boxes, appliances, plumbing layout and toilets retained; all finishes, entry closet, partial dividing wall and lifeless fireplace demolished. Marcel Wanders’ whimsical, timeless style & my client’s Tibetan collection inspired our design & palette of black, white, yellow & brushed bronze. Marcel’s wallpaper, furniture & lighting are featured throughout, along with Patricia Arquiola’s embossed tiles and lighting by Tom Dixon and Roll&Hill. The rosewood prominent in the Shangri-La’s common areas suited our design; our local millworker used fsc rosewood veneers. Features include a rolling art piece hiding the tv, a bench nook at the front door and charcoal-stained wood walls inset with art. Ceaserstone countertops and fixtures from Watermark, Kohler & Zucchetti compliment the cabinetry. A white concrete floor provides a clean, unifying base. Ceiling drops, inset with charcoal-painted embossed tin, define areas along with rugs by East India & FLOR. In the transition space is a Solus ethanol-based firebox. Thermally massive polished concrete with a white oxide and limestone aggregate mix was used as the floor finish to the ground floor. Tasmanian Oak stairs, stair balustrade, and handrail were used alongside Western Red Cedar doors and windows in order to inject some warmth and texture into the space. This midcentury modern house was transformed from a municipal garage into a private house in the late 1950’s by renowned modernist architect Paul Rudolph. At project start the house was in pristine condition, virtually untouched since it won a Record Houses award in 1960. We were tasked with bringing the house up to current energy efficiency standards and with reorganizing the house to accommodate the new owners’ more contemporary needs, while also respecting the noteworthy original design. Projet non finalisé, la villa est en cours de rénovation complète. Le coin salon va prendre place ici, avec un sol en béton ciré, un meuble bibliothèque et Tv réalisé sur mesure en noyer. Les étagères sont fixées de façon invisible pour plus de légèreté, les appareils électroniques seront cachés dans la niche, recouverte d'un revêtement mural qui laisse passer les ondes des télécommandes. Tout est dissimulé, mais pratique d'accès.

When it comes to the best decor for small living rooms, you can either choose to keep things light and airy to open up the space, or embrace the cosiness of the smaller area you have by going for warm colours and filling the room with your favourite accessories.

Living room layouts and choosing the right living room furniture

When it comes to the layout of your living room, it will depend on what pieces of furniture you have – but how do you choose what living room furniture to add, whether you’re refreshing your living room design or starting from scratch? The best place to start is with the seating – one corner sofa will usually seat three to four people, and if that’s all you think you’ll need, then you can leave it at that. Placing your sofa along the longest wall helps to make the most of the space, but think about where you want the focus of the room to be, too. If you need more seating, look at armchairs that offer comfort but don’t take up too much space – cramming a room with too many large armchairs is something to avoid. But armchairs and sofas don’t have to be your only options – go for bean bags and floor cushions for an eclectic feel, pouffes and ottomans if you’re more traditional, and smart design chairs for contemporary living room ideas. Coffee tables are always handy, but you can always add a couple of side tables if you don’t want to clutter the central space in front of seating with anything. It’s natural that our living rooms tend to attract lots of items and belongings seeing as they act as multipurpose living spaces. Whether you love to read a book; watch a film; let your children play with their toys; practise a craft like knitting or drawing; play a musical instrument or play video games in your sitting room, there will always be a need for a few extra living room ideas that can help you with storage. Apart from the standard bookcases, side tables and TV units, there are a few other handy living room storage ideas you can invest in. As mentioned before, if you have the room and budget for it, a built-in storage unit could be the way forward. With a well-built unit you could hide your TV, DVDs, players, books, video consoles and all sorts away in one place. If you don’t quite have a large enough area for one, you could look at shelving – either side of the chimney breast is a great place to install shelving if you have one in your living room.
