The original kitchen featured an island that divided the space and was out of scale for the space, the tile and countertops that were dated. Our goal was to create an inviting kitchen for gatherings, and integrate our clients color palette without doing a complete kitchen remodel. We designed a new island with high gloss paint finish in turquoise, added new quartz countertops, subway and sea glass tile, vent hood, light fixtures, farm style sink, faucet and cabinet hardware. The space is now open and offers plenty of space to cook and entertain. Keeping our environment in mind and sustainable design approach, we recycled the original Island and countertops to 2nd Used Seattle.

This 1922 beautiful home needed a kitchen to match its beauty. The peninsula was removed, and an island was added. The new cabinets were done in a maple seamless shaker door from the Kitchen Solvers Classic Collection line done in a stunning Isle of Pines color. Next, we installed a new Quartz countertop in Calcatta Alta MSI and a white bevel 3 x 6 backsplash with silver Mapie 27 grout. We also added a bar area with custom shelving. The colors, style, and the finishes all tie in and give this kitchen an updated sophisticated look. It is also now more open, inviting, and functioning.

Who wouldn’t want to sit in front of this fireplace? It was a honed black slate hearth, white tin surround and a reclaimed, old growth pine mantle. The wall behind it is covered in beadboard made from reclaimed timber pine. After tearing down this home's existing addition, we set out to create a new addition with a modern farmhouse feel that still blended seamlessly with the original house. The addition includes a kitchen great room, laundry room and sitting room. Outside, we perfectly aligned the cupola on top of the roof, with the upper story windows and those with the lower windows, giving the addition a clean and crisp look. Using granite from Chester County, mica schist stone and hardy plank siding on the exterior walls helped the addition to blend in seamlessly with the original house. Inside, we customized each new space by paying close attention to the little details. Reclaimed wood for the mantle and shelving, sleek and subtle lighting under the reclaimed shelves, unique wall and floor tile, recessed outlets in the island, walnut trim on the hood, paneled appliances, and repeating materials in a symmetrical way work together to give the interior a sophisticated yet comfortable feel. Rudloff Custom Builders has won Best of Houzz for Customer Service in 2014, 2015 2016, 2017 and 2019. Can you believe that this Kitchen used to be four separate rooms with a closet in the center that housed the furnace? Years ago, this client came to us, wanting to explore the idea of demolishing the house and starting new. After further discussion, we decided the best decision was to remodel the interior to make it exactly as they wanted, housing the clients and her mother. The clients found these awesome schoolhouse pendants that we up-cycled to add charm to this eclectic Kitchen. The themes of this Kitchen truly reflect the beautiful outdoor garden that the client loves to tend to in her spare time, blurring the line between the outdoor and indoors.

You can add a breakfast bar or counter to your existing kitchen units, or stick with a good old-fashioned dining table if you don’t need the extra work surfaces. How do I choose my kitchen units and cabinets?

It’s always best to overestimate how much kitchen storage you’ll need as we all tend to have a habit of filling up whatever current space we have to the maximum. Next you can consider kitchen cabinet style and colour. Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. However, going for raised or recessed panel work in a striking colour such as dark blue, green or black can still work with contemporary kitchen ideas. White kitchens can give a sleek and clean feel, but remember you may have to do a bit more cleaning of those cupboard doors if you want everything to stay shiny and fresh. Of course, grey kitchens are the neutral colour choice du jour and can be paired with pale and rich shades alike if you want your fitted kitchen cupboards to contrast with your worktop, splashback, floor, or all of the above. However, there are now lots of pull out compartments and drawers with trays and shelving that can act as mini kitchen pantries, and you can install handy cupboard organisers that fit onto the inside of the door to make the most of your cupboard space. You can also look at corner drawers and cupboards that open up to reveal lots of extra storage. Rails or small shelves along your kitchen walls or splashback can help with hanging utensils or pans, or storing small items like herbs and spices in an usually empty space. Kitchen ideas and accessories such as baskets, trolleys and storage jars are both aesthetically pleasing and practical as they give you extra storage space.
