Lake home has field stone retaining walls, stone stairs, beautiful plantings, night lighting, a hot tub and so much more!
Art of Stone Gardening
We looped the driveway up the hill in order to bring the front of the home into full focus. This also made traversing the steep slope much easier. Two boulder walls are planted with drought tolerant perennials.
FormLA Landscaping
Established California native greenery fills the back garden. Native, edible White Sage, Manzanita, and Catalina Cherry wrap a more traditional edible garden. The charming wooden shed offers convenient storage for outdoor furniture cushions and tools . The ability to store these items lessens the dry fuel available near the home. Placing this wooden structure at a distance from the home is also protective. Photo: Lesly Hall Photography

Julie Moir Messervy Design Studio (JMMDS)
For a mountaintop home in southern Vermont, JMMDS enlarged an existing pond and simplified its shape, creating a swimming pond with artfully placed stone steps for entering the water at several points along its perimeter. A wide mown-grass path around the pond takes visitors past moss-covered boulders and large swathes of native plantings along the shoreline. Photos: Bill Sumner.

Landscape design enhances and enriches natural surroundings. Custom stone work, patios, stairs, walkways, driveways, plantings, pools, and entertaining areas are functionally designed to enhance and enrich. Hardscape details are compatible with both traditional and contemporary features.
Weeds Garden Design Build LLC
This was a dried out weed strewn desert of a corner lot - including front, side and back gardens, with enormous parkways as well. The entire landscape hadn’t been touched in many years. We removed all the dead grass and weeds, created swales and berms, a big rain garden, paths and seating areas all with permeable paving. Also added fruit trees and veggie beds, and transformed the space completely. Now, the garden is full of birds, butterflies and pollinators! And the clients got a sizable rebate through the LADWP landscape rebate program!
Urban Oasis Landscape Design
Every garden needs a place to grow vegetables. This custom, oversized cedar planter is a great place for the family to get their hands dirty.
