Davonport Kitchen & HomeDavonport Holkham shaker-style cabinetry with exposed butt hinges was chosen for a classic look and its smaller proportions in this Victorian country kitchen. Hand painted in a beautiful light stone (Slate 11 – from Paint & Paper Library) and heritage green (Farrow & Ball’s studio green), the colour scheme provides the perfect canvas for the antique-effect brushed brass accessories. A traditional style white porcelain butler sink with brass taps is positioned in front of the large sash window, providing a stylish focal point when you enter the room. Then at the heart of the kitchen is a freestanding-style island (topped with the same white quartz worktop as the rest of the room). Designed with plenty of storage in the way of cupboards and drawers (as well as breakfast bar seating for 2), it acts as a prep table that is positioned in easy reach of the professional quality Miele induction hob and ovens. These elements help nod to the heritage of the classic country kitchen that would have originally been found in the property.
Out of the main cooking zone, but in close proximity to seating on the island, a breakfast cupboard/drinks cabinet houses all of Mr Edward’s coffee gadgets at worktop level. Above, several shelves finished with opulent mirrored glass and back-lit lights showcase the couples’ selection of fine cut glassware. This creates a real wow feature in the evening and can be seen from the couples’ large round walnut dining table which is positioned with views of the English-country garden. The overall style of the kitchen is classic, with a very welcoming and homely feel. It incorporates pieces of charming antique furniture with the clean lines of the hand painted Davonport cabinets marrying the old and the new.

Higham FurnitureWhenever space allows, we like to include a bi-fold dresser in our designs as these offer a practical storage solution for a kitchen. Dressers are perfect as sort of breakfast stations, as the doors fold back fully; the worktop area is perfect for storing a coffee machine and a toaster, with cups and plates above. This contemporary shaker kitchen with our bespoke inset handle is painted in Obsidian Green by Little Greene.

McDaniels Kitchen and BathThis transitional kitchen design in Holt proves why dramatic color schemes are becoming a more popular choice for kitchen remodels. The elegant, custom green raised panel cabinetry from Decora is beautifully offset by Top Knobs honey bronze finish hardware. The space has a slight rustic edge with the hardwood flooring, dark Cambria quartz countertop, and marble backsplash combining perfectly to add contrast and texture to the design. CC Woodcrafters of New EnglandWelcome to this charming, high-style kitchen featuring Benjamin Moore paint in “everglades” to show off a one-of-a-kind look. How about that antique stove and drop-in sink? Those throw backs plus the shabby chic crystal chandeliers make this kitchen one of our all-time favorites. Soapstone counter tops provide a stunning contrast to the painted cabinetry. Inset doors with barrel hinges highlight the character of this CCW Custom remodel. Classic decorative ends polish the look as the beaded inside edge detail of the doors add depth and dimension. Blind corner storage makes good use of every inch as does the intelligently hidden double trash pullout. Frome InteriorsThis bespoke family kitchen was part of the renovation of a period home in Frome. The ground floor is a half basement and struggled with dark rooms and a layout that did not function well for family life. New windows were added to the adjoining dining room and crisp white finishes and clever lighting have transformed the space. Bespoke cabinets maximised the limited head height and corner space. Designed in a classic shaker style and painted in Hopper by Little Greene with classic burnished brass ironmongery, it is a timeless design.
