Knocking through between a small kitchen and dining room then adding a glass extension created a beautiful open, airy space with room for a huge island and a separate bar/coffee/drinks station alongside the comfy seating area. To keep the open feel, the tall units and sink cabinets were painted in Farrow and Ball Ammonite, a neutral greige tone whilst the island and bar run are painted in a lovely blue green shade that changes with the light, Little Greene Paint Company Squid Ink. There are two instant hot water Quooker taps, one on the main sink for use when cooking and a second on the bar run when making teas and coffee, a real luxury.

For all lovers of country style, we turn the hub of the home at @sundale_house, a 1920s home into a dream entertaining space that our client has dreamed about for so many years. When our client first moved into the property they only wanted to update the existing kitchen as they didn’t feel they needed to invest in a brand new kitchen at that time. Fast forward a few years later and we have completed the space with a handmade bespoke kitchen by PF. Each area is dedicated to something new and enticing and makes the kitchen a fun place to be. The home is full of all things hygge and the design is shown throughout cosy moments of comfort and appreciation being created in everyday life. The paint colours show this fabulously – Slaked Lime and Slaked Lime Dark both by Little Greene were chosen. We hand-painted the kitchen island in the dark colour of the two. Both colours are pure and neutral made with a combination of minerals to give a warm and soft appearance. Carefully considering the layout, an L-shape was best to take advantage of all walls and where an island could sit in the middle dividing the different zones of the living space. The space was also big enough for a separate bespoke unit that houses the Fisher & Paykel fridge freezer. When looking at the island in more detail this piece of furniture has been designed solely for a prep station. We are loving the frontage that is open with slated timber at the bottom. On the main kitchen run, we find not only a breakfast pantry but a dresser with plenty of bespoke storage for those items that are bulky for the main worktop. Both are built with bi-fold doors and integrated LED lighting, so each of the cabinets can be opened up into the space and closed away when not in use. In between these is the Steel Cucine Ascot Range Cooker in stainless steel with a stunning bespoke mantle positioned above and a hand-silvered antiqued mirror splashback. Taking our attention to other parts of the design, we find a beautiful sink area located underneath a window featuring a Shaws’ sink and Perrin & Rowe taps. There’s also plenty of alternative storage such as wooden open shelves, a hidden wine rack and convenient pull-out drawers. As the client stated… “styling and turning our 1920s house into our perfect family home.”

This whole house remodel is a transitional elegant piece of art work. The wall of refrigeration to the Quartzite counters and fireplace. The cabinetry is by Elmwood Cabinetry. The cabinets are all wood construction with a painted finish called Fossil Dusk. The door style is Munroe. The countertop is a natural Quartzite stone in Ocean Tide with a 1 1/2" Beveled Edge. The cooktop is a 36" Wolf gas cooktop. The refrigerator wall is made up of two 30" Subzero Integrated columns, one a full refrigerator, and the other side a full freezer. The outer ends of the wall are two wine fridges by Subzero both 24" and Integrated. The hood is a 42" Zephyr Venezia. The double ovens are 30" by Jenn-Air Dual Fan Convection Ovens. The sink is an integrated sink. The faucet, Air Gap, Air Switch are all Rohl in Satin Nickel. The instant hot dispenser is by brasstech and is in stainless steel. The pendant light is by Ultralights from there Genesis collection in a custom size. The tile is all from Siena Tile in San Ramon, CA. The backsplash is Tomei Lunada Bay Tile in Loft Natural 3" x 12". The fireplace tile is Quartzite rock by Norstone in Charcoal. The paint is by Kelly Moore. The walls are Creek Bay KM5784-3. The accent walls and trim are Country Club KM5785-3. All the cabinet hardware is by Top Knobs. The barn door and barn door hardware is all from Rustica Hardware.
