This calm, light-filled family kitchen in Peckham pairs matte black cabinetry with tactile raked oak and a dramatic green quartzite that wraps the curved island in a waterfall edge. Rooflights and full-height sliding doors draw the garden in, creating effortless indoor–outdoor flow and generous natural light across the work surfaces.
The layout is organised into clear zones to keep the space intuitive and clutter-free: a cooking run with tall appliance bank in black, a generous prep island with seating, and a breakfast/coffee area. Storage is carefully planned—an illuminated oak display cabinet with ribbed glass, a full larder, open oak end shelving and a neatly organised spice drawer keep everyday items visible or hidden as needed. Curved oak cladding softens the circulation around the island, while the veined quartzite provides a biophilic connection and a durable working surface.
Long black bar handles on the tall units add a refined linear detail; elsewhere, discreet detailing keeps visual noise low. A small butcher’s-block station and a banquette breakfast nook under a rooflight complete the room’s daily rituals.

A full kitchen redesign in Norwood Junction, taking a kitchen that previously lacked enough storage to create a stylish and functional space that my clients want to cook and spend time in.
The brief was to create a kitchen with dark tones and plenty of wood, and I designed this with black fenix and oak veneer doors, coupled with splashback and floor tiles for texture.
Here the layout was dramatically changed, adding in floor to ceiling cabinetry, open shelving, a breakfast cupboard and opening up the window by removing the sink and dishwasher that were previously here.
A great project to work on.

Bronzed tall units against the original flint walls for high contrast and rustic wood kitchen island with pink marble top.

The kitchen was designed by Formwork and features stained birch faced plywood to soften the material palette and perfectly complement the polished concrete counter tops.

For the island, we added hidden cupboard space under the seating area, for the seldom used items. Also, incorporating a drawer with a double plug and USB point. Hiding unsightly cables with the ease of charging at the same time. To complement the curved island top, we mirrored this on the ceiling to enhance a softness to the design.
To eradicate the need of an overhead extractor fan, we used a Bora Pure recirculation extractor hob. The optimal airflow offers reduced noise when used and all odours are immediately captured at surface height. Perfect when entertaining.

Situated just south of Kensington Palace and Gardens (one of the most prestigious locations in London), we find this lovely slim U-shaped kitchen full of style and beauty. Smaller in size but the sleek lines are still evident in this project within the tall cornices and external skirting. We loved working in this stately Victorian building!
Our client’s luxury bespoke kitchen journey began with a visit to The Handmade Kitchen Co showroom. The couple were able to see the exquisite quality of our furniture for themselves which would provide them with a unique and personal space that would be loved for many years to come.
Our client wanted to showcase their impeccably good taste and opted for our Traditional Raised shaker. It has been highlighted with a black paint hand-painted onto the cabinets known as Black Beauty by Benjamin Moore. It’s a rich shade of black with a hint of warmth. Versatile and sophisticated, black is a colour that can enhance any style of home, whether cosy or chic, soft or bold. Incorporating black paint, whether subtly or boldly, can make a significant impact on interior design.
This kitchen isn’t just a culinary experience but is designed to make memories with loved ones in the space they call the heart of the home.
Enhancing the cooking journey is the Rangemaster Classic Deluxe 110cm Dual Fuel Range Cooking in Black & Brass Trim which has been put alongside the cutting-edge Westin Prime extractor.
Having a clear direction of how our clients wanted their kitchen style, they opted for a Nivito Brass sink, Quooker PRO3 Fusion Round Tap in Gold & Quooker Cube and a Quooker Soak Dispenser in Gold. All three items instantly add grandeur to the space, while maintaining a balanced and understated presence.
To offset the boldness of the Black Beauty cabinetry, the Calacatta Viola Marble Honed worktops provide a striking contrast with their pristine polished finish. This juxtaposition creates a visually captivating and inviting kitchen space.
The intricate features make up the kitchen design and the ones in this space are the decorative cornices and the Armac Martin ‘Bakes’ cabinet handles in burnished brass.
Throughout this London townhouse, there was beautiful scribing in each room. Our client wanted it to flow nicely throughout the whole property and added it to the rooms we designed – the kitchen and bedroom. Adding to the theme and grandeur of the building, these decorative cornices look beautiful amongst the high ceilings.

When the homeowners first approached us, they had a clear vision in mind—they wanted something that would complement their existing oak beams and create a warm, handmade, farmhouse atmosphere. We spent time together exploring different options, taking care to ensure every choice reflected their style and the family's needs. Ultimately, we settled on our Period English style, which aligned beautifully with their vision.
The addition of curved cabinet legs was a subtle yet significant choice, softening the overall look and bringing a more relaxed feel to the room. The oak beams, far from being a design challenge, became an integral part of the space. We incorporated them into the layout, and the homeowners were delighted with how the kitchen now fits between the beams.
One of the family’s favourite features is the kitchen island, which has become a central gathering spot—ideal for both practical tasks and family time. After experimenting with several shades, they settled on this beautiful blue for the cabinetry. The colour not only brightened the space but also beautifully complemented the warmth of the oak beams.
Advice from the homeowners: They highly recommend visiting our showroom to meet the team in person. Seeing the options up close and discussing the fine details with the team helped ensure the final design turned out exactly as they had imagined.

The kitchen is anchored by a central island and illuminated from above by rooflights, creating a calm, light-filled heart to the home within the larger open-plan arrangement.

GEC Anderson were instructed to measure, supply and install made to measure brushed satin stainless steel worktops for the complete kitchen refurbishment.
Included in the design were a total of four worktops. One worktop featured an integrated end panel. The main sink top included individual hob plate cut outs: integral sink with drainer and splashback. A further two worktops were also included.

With its soft hues and natural warmth, The Redland Kitchen is a blissful sanctuary in the heart of this busy family home.
Featuring the Redland door, the slim frame creates elegant detailing and clean lines. The mellow aesthetic pairs painted cabinets with oak veneer, creating an organic and calming space.
The kitchen was designed to provide ample storage whilst keeping the room open to allow natural light to flood in. The long kitchen island is a multi-functional feature, providing additional storage and worktop space, while creating the perfect spot for family breakfasts or coffee catch-ups with friends.

This exquisite kitchen renovation in Marlow, London, beautifully blends traditional farmhouse charm with contemporary style.
Featuring exposed brick walls and a sleek Italian kitchen, the space is both functional and stunning. Integrated appliances, a stainless steel worktop, and a white marble slabbed centre island with an extended breakfast bar make this chef's kitchen a centrepiece of the home.
Part of a ground floor renovation, this project perfectly balances rustic elements with modern design, creating a warm and inviting family space.
