The Water Tank Penthouse at Keeling House in Bethnal Green, London, is a striking, award-winning one-bedroom duplex converted from the building's disused rooftop water tank. Designed by architect Brian Heron, the compact 53m2 apartment retains a raw, industrial aesthetic with polished concrete floors and oriented strand board (OSB) walls.

This extra large dining area wraps around the Caesarstone raw concrete island. Large enough to seat 10 the island comes into its own when entertaining. This was designed for a chef who loves to talk so is a very communal space. The reclaimed timber for the dining table was rescued from a building site locally and it rests upon a bespoke steel frame made by a local blacksmith.

A kitchen nook from the inside features furniture in dark gray, exuding sleek charm. The industrial luxury style is manifested in the meticulous attention to detail and the seamless integration of sophisticated elements within the space.

Old factory in Bermondsey converted into a styled and bright apartment. Exposed brickwork and beams speak of their past.

A culmination of modern innovation, traditional craftsmanship and true inspiration, this unique space is a mix of everything that our designers are passionate about. Brick, marble, oak and stone are set against the clean lines of our hand-crafted cupboards in this unapologetically proud, industrial scheme.
Beneath an exposed brick wall, tall statement cabinetry with oak doors framed with integrated handles, conceal the fridge and standing larder, whilst open shelving introduces an element of personalisation and textural intrigue.
Standing centre stage, a statement green marble island stands majestically, surrounded by contrasting brick red coloured tiles and sumptuous tonal seating. Industrial accessories add to the elemental tone of the room, which is grounded by the soothing green and brick red of the tiles and marble.

Re-fit of an industrial space to provide an adaptable home that maximises available volume and celebrates the building’s raw appeal. A series of effective interventions allow the space to host a brand range of live work actives without compromising the bright open feel.

Spring Water Barn is a beautifully curated renovation that blends rustic charm with refined, contemporary design. This bespoke kitchen and interior project features handcrafted cabinetry, quartz worktops, and a harmonious mix of shaker and handleless styles. Set in the Kent countryside, every detail was thoughtfully considered to enhance the home's character while delivering modern functionality. From the warm natural tones to the tailored storage solutions, the design reflects timeless elegance and practical living—perfect for a rural retreat with a luxury finish.

Bathed in soft daylight from the tall, black-framed windows, the new kitchen-diner reads like a carefully layered still-life: a full-length run of forest-green, handle-less cabinetry underlines the exposed London-stock brick, while a single LED-lit oak shelf works double duty as a bar and visual horizon. Centre stage, a Calacatta-look quartz waterfall island slides forward to meet a glass-topped dining table; both are ringed by boucle-upholstered chairs that temper the industrial envelope with tactile warmth. Below, pale oak herringbone boards knit the entire ground floor together, their chevrons echoed by the subtle brass inlay that defines each cabinet front. Overhead, a sculptural black pendant arcs towards a playful KAWS figure perched above the tall larder units, proof that this is a working kitchen with a sense of fun as well as finesse.

I worked with Siobhan Kane, of Arc & Oak Interiors, to photograph this beautiful loft style apartment in Hoxton. This apartment was filled with original features, from crittall windows and exposed brickwork, to wood flooring and even the iron doors on the bedroom. In the editing room, I kept the oranges muted, allowing the other colours to come through.

View of an L-shaped kitchen with a central island in a side return extension in a Victoria house which has a sloping glazed roof. The shaker style cabinets with beaded frames are painted in Little Greene Obsidian Green. The handles a brass d-bar style. The worktop on the perimeter units is Iroko wood and the island worktop is honed, pencil veined Carrara marble. A single bowel sink sits in the island with a polished brass tap with a rinse spout. Vintage Holophane pendant lights sit above the island. The black painted sash windows are surrounded by non-bevelled white metro tiles with a dark grey grout. A Wolf gas hob sits above double Neff ovens with a black, Falcon extractor hood over the hob. The flooring is hexagon shaped, cement encaustic tiles. Black Anglepoise wall lights give directional lighting.

Something a little different to our usual style, we injected a little glamour into our handmade Decolane kitchen in Upminster, Essex. When the homeowners purchased this property, the kitchen was the first room they wanted to rip out and renovate, but uncertainty about which style to go for held them back, and it was actually the final room in the home to be completed! As the old saying goes, "The best things in life are worth waiting for..." Our Design Team at Burlanes Chelmsford worked closely with Mr & Mrs Kipping throughout the design process, to ensure that all of their ideas were discussed and considered, and that the most suitable kitchen layout and style was designed and created by us, for the family to love and use for years to come.
